And lets not forget, the last Flagship meet was started by a newbie. Shout out to CP2. It was a last minute thing, but we had a decent turn out. Am I right? You guys called me crazy for driving from Alexandria.
The flagship meet had a definite time and location. Plus he actually brought his Z out instead of a beater. I really don't see the point of organizing a Z meet when the organizer isn't even bringing his/her Z out. It's different when the organizer is already friends with everybody and it's just like a buddy hangout(the NOVA old timers here do that quite a bit). But if the organizer is some unknown noob, what's there to attract a crowd to show up? The 20 degree weather? Or the unknown pho soup?

Will do. I'm gonna wait for it to get a little warmer first.

I know I wouldn't drive 2 hours to Frederick, MD for a meet if I know there might not even be 5 people there and people aren't even gonna bring out their Z's.

Agreed. Make your meet before the 15th of Feb my man. Dad gets back on the 15th, and I leave on the 18th. I don't want to miss a cheap buffet

I didn't mean what I said to bash anyone new...I think its good they want to get together and meet other Z owners. It will just be better when the weather gets warmer and they come to some of the regular meets we have every year. Honestly it seems a lot of the new folks got their cars in the winter so they don't know about all the usual Mid-A activities and shenanigans ...

Thanks man. I really wish I could have made it. But when there is a woman changing the oil on her camry, and doesnt put the drain plug back on before she poured the new oil in, I had to help her (she was somewhat of a cutie).

By all means, I'm a n00b bro. I've only had my car for 5 months. The only reason I have so many posts, is because I'm 20 with a TS. I don't want to do the stuff I used to, because I know I'll get in trouble. I still go out, but in high school, every night was a drinking night haha. Now I can't do that, so I pretty much keep to myself and play xbox/surf the boards. I'm a loser pretty much...

I'll be out there next time no doubt. As long as you let me lead the pack on those back roads

The problem is the "old timers" don't want to participate in these meets, and all of us from all over "boonesville" are expected to drive 2 or more hours for a meet (which I have done more than once) I think the guys that complain about the meets being too far or "limited cars would show up" are the problem. If you were there, there'd be more cars derrrrr!!!!

Oh man if you could only see it right now. Dirty as hell, and riding on my stock offsets (which are like +75), she looks bad, especially lowered with the lip.

I'm just anxious to test the coilovers, thats why I wanna lead the pack.

This thread is so off topic now...

The last meet I went to with my old '03 was over in Burke Lake park; we had about 15 Z's and a couple of G's, cooked out, chilled, and after that went on a kick azz drive around the Clifton back roads. That to me was a killer meet because it was relaxed, gave people time to socialize, and then go and learn how your car handles.

I still like the meets where the Z's meet up and go to the Chic Filet meet, but it seems that as soon as we get there, everyone scatters. We gotta be like Dominic Toretto's crew and hang tyte to represent!

Off topic...maybe. But it seems like everyone has calmed down a little bit and is gaining a little more understanding of each other. We're ALL local with the same passion and love for our cars. Thats what brought us all here anyway.

I guess winter is not as much as a turnout because people either get their cars in the winter, or most of the high HP guys or FI guys in general park their cars in the winter to avoid damage or accidents. Another thing is winter is a good time to catch up on some mods.
