Default Thats What's Up

Finally I found a spot where Z riders get up. Anyone going to be out tonight in NOVA? I'm up on Quantico. This might sound a bit weird but I was rolling with my friend and his WRX crowd. Man I felt so out of space there, everyone talking about WRX's and I stuck out like sore thumb since I had a Z. Try to get my Z off the ground now, adding some new parts started out simple with the CAI, trying to find some used stuff since I'm a Marine.. need I say more about the income. Just ordered this AVIC Z2 kit that more than likely I'm going to try to install myself (or with someone of they got some time, I got alil doe and some beers). I want to put it in the cubbyhole. What you think about that?

I would call Arthur at CT2 about the Z2 that's an expensive piece of hardware and I would rather trust a professional with that just my .02

Being military also, I know how it is with cash haha. Try to install it yourself man, it's not that difficult. Most of the mods on the Z can be done with a little patience, and you will save money that way. I'm sure if you ask around work somebody has done a similar install, and they will help you.

I've got nothing against going to a shop, but DIY is definitely FTW

The AVIC Z3 is extremely easy to install if you have the Z harness all you have to do is wire in the vehicle speed sensor for the Navigation. It should honestly only take you a mere 30 minutes, just get the dash kit and replace teh factory Bose (If thats what you have) headunit.

Yeah I hear ya with the pop charger but dont hear the popcharger price. The CAI I have now is an AEM one that like a short ram intake I modded from my boys kit. He took it of his sentra and was going to sell it. I was like let me hold it for you. Bolted it on and was cool ever since. Its a clean install going to buy a heat shield, throw a bypass on it, and let that bad boy ride.

I hear ya, but that is alot for a air filter. Not to knock those who have the resources to get it, but an air filter is an air filter at the end of the day. Whether its cotton or paper or whatever new technogly they come out with.. its an air fliter i refuse to pay 100 dollars and some change for. As for the AVIC Z2, I think i'm just going to take my time with it, read the directions and do it myself or with someone else who is a DIY'er like me.

I'm a huge believer in DIY. I belief that when you DIY you have more pride in your car, your work, and your own abilites. I would take more complex issues like tunning and all that to a pro, but on stuff that I can (or with a friend) do myself, please believe I will. Alot of people fear DIY projects for many reasons, but one of the biggest is no confidence in their own abilities. Plus its cheaper, I priced some of the install stuff in this area, and for simple ****, its crazy how much they charge. I realize that most businesses have to keep their doors open and have people to pay but got damn!!! I know alot of you out there feel me on this one.

I willing to offer and help anyone in NOVA with any DIY projects as long as they are willing to help me with mine. There is nothing that can't be done with a friend, some tools, some convo, beer, pizza, and a 350z.

Default I hear ya..

Throw a heat shield on it better than what u can get a stillen or anywhere else. I built my system for like 30 bucks or so. Been riding with it sice last summer no problems with it. I'm on ebay right now trying to find some parts. I need a plenum spacer, mrev, and a engine dampner.
