I would look for an 2005. It seems to be the happy medium of least amount of defects. Before you buy it inspect the top and make there's no peeling in the corners. Also operate the top (open and close) several times and make sure everything it operating without any odd noises, rubbing, or resistance.

As said before the 06's are known to have oil consumption problems. An 07+ would be best but as far as I know there's not many options for aftermarket parts (all internals are different from the 03-05, and 06).
Thanks and yes, I'll be @ the track rental in April with you guys again. I'd love to buy an '07, by budget for the purchase of the car is $25k or less. That way I still have funds for the engine build and turbo kit.

Yeah since you're building an 05' will suffice. Right now you can get a 05 Touring Roadster for $25K with 60k miles (KBB value).

I had a red rx before my z...love them both. Even though I blew up my rx motor and ended up in court for over a year. Peter even testified in court for for me. Awesome guy
