Default Z Got Paintballed in MD

I don't know if this was some spur of the moment prank by some random douchebags I happened to park next to, or if this is something that might happen to all of us.
Anyways, I went to my local gym Monday night and saw a silver Z already parked. So figuring, at least this guy won't door ding or mash my bumper I parked near him. There was also an SUV next to me, but I gave them ample room in case they swung their doors wide on me.
I come out after working out, to find my car covered in white/yellowish gooo At first I thought, "Wow, some bird with diarhea just jacked up my paint". But after getting closer, I realized that some A$$hole had covered my entire car with paint shots at close range. (and no, I don't have pics because I immediately started wiping the crap off) I actually don't know which is worse: That somebody actually had the nuts to walk around my car several times and hit it from every conceivable angle or that this happened in a public parking lot and nobody did anything!!

Sorry, just needed to vent on this one...

Does the establishment have a security camera of any kind?? Paintballs can stain automotive paint... luckily it's cold out.

Same thing happened to a guy here in town. He called the police and they stated that it was not considered vandalism since it does not permanently damage the vehicle.

I bet it would be a different story if the perp when through the police parking lot.

Luckily no. But thanks to some other friendly people in MD I already have a nice collection of dings on both doors...

I just waxed it this weekend, since it was kind of warm out. I've been on the fence about getting a Z car cover, but this may have changed my mind.

I have had a similar problem once while at work. At first I thought someone tossed candy at the car. A word of caution: Paint ***** will dent the car. Examine the surface carefully in good light.

Thanks, I will. I know you've suffered a number of vandalism attempts in the past. Do you ever bring your cover when parking in open lots, or just near your residence?

My car is covered 90 percent of the time at work. In fact the day of the paint ball incident it was covered. At the end of the day walking to the car I saw 2 big orange blotches on the hood.

What would be even more painful is taking your car to the most expensive body shop or repair place and having your car put back to pristine condition at their expense. They will feel the pain of debt much longer and more intense than being beat down.

It would be fun and games for them and they would have a big laugh until the courts make them pay
3-5k for a new paint job plus replacing all the dented body panels from the paintballs
