I was coming home saturday morning around 7pm from VA. Had a good time at a house party but about 2 miles from the wilson bridge the cop pulled me over for doing 91mph@55mph zone.
Im not gonna bad mouth the cop. I know I was speeding and I did not make excuses.
I told him I drank a good amount the night before and on my way home so I can catch my 8am tee time at Hampshire greens.
So he wrote me a quick ticket for wreckless, took a breathalizer test (blew 0.04)

He said just come to court and he will tell the judge that I was being very polite the entire time and that there was no traffic in the morning and I did not put anyone in danger. That way the sentencing will not be too harsh, maybe just a good amount in fines.
I was suprised how nice the cop was. I guess its always good to be polite to your police officer and have great respect for their job.

Either way, I HATE driving in VA

yeah I got out of a wreckless by being polite, went from being initially pulled over being yelled at by the cop to getting compliments and a warning as I pulled away!

 

Eh.. yeah you should def go to court. I got pulled over in NJ doing almost 100 in a 55zone which was apparantly also a "saftey corridor" in the Mercedes in the left lane (which apparantly you can't drive in and is only supposed to be used for passing) Anyway... the cop gave me a wreckless driving ticket, and I paid it because I didn't want to have to go back up to NJ for court ...a few weeks later i get a letter in the mail from WV dmv that says btw you have 11 points on your lisence one more and you're toast. The wreckless driving carries 6 frickin points!!!! moral of the story- fight it!

 

Yea he really like the car and told me he probably wouldve done the same if he were in my position. So we had a laugh. Got my ticket and went on home. Very cool cop.

 

good to know there is some decent cops on the road, and from my understanding when an officer praises you in court you should be good with the judge

if the officers says 1 good thing about it in court, the judges are like, hmm.. k cool.

how much is the wreckless fine?

 

GA its 1200-1500 in most counties

 

+1 I got pulled over for street racing and speeding and because the cop spoke up for me in court I caught PBJ. reduced the fine and just paid a fraction of what it shouldve been. Good luck in court man!

 

i got pbj to if i wouldnt of the fine was 1200 i paid 250

That sucks man you got a ticket, but it's also good that the cop wasn't an ***... I hate driving in VA too... I try to take it easy when I'm out there... Like what was said earlier fight that ticket...

 

dayum thats a nice reduction. Mine went from 525 or 575 down to 100 even.

I got a ticket saturday also, I was going 75 on a 40. I told him I was trying to catch up to my friends and I told him I was sorry for speeding.

He was a cool cop. He told me he did the same thing when he was my age... so thats why he became a cop. He lowered the speed to 50 on a 40 and 1 point $90.
