I was looking at apartment complexs, and reading the reviews on them. Most of them were 25% or less, with constant reviews reading "gunfire and drug trafficing"

I have one garunteed roomate, and two possibles. It shouldn't be a problem finding a place, hopefully

Eric, I don't envy you man. I tried to find a nice place around the beltway that had covered parking and cost less than $2000/mo... yeah, wasn't happening.

Since we are talking about apartments, I need a place that has 'dedicated' parking, ie. a townhouse with a garage. Anyone in here have any recommendations? Under $2k, because I don't want more than 1 roommate. After being in the military for 4 years and college for another 4, I am sick of living in a hostil environment.

 

Well I am looking at townhouses in Lorton right now. I am looking at one thats 4BR with a Garage, for 1750 a month. Sounds too good to be true huh

 

Why not look in College Park. Alot of the areas aren't the greatest, but the apartments across from the ikea are nice. Garages, close to the Univerity, next to the beltway and fenced in w/ optional garages.

Have you thought of the Ft. Meade area, hell thier base housing isn't too bad and as a SrA i think you can get a house on your own. If not troll some of the soldier forums they are always looking for roommates, that is if an AF member could tolerate an army grunt.

 

It may not be considered College Park, since it's so far down Rt1. But they're just finishing up some new apartments behind that shopping center at the intersection of Rt and Contee Rd. My Z lasted a whole year over there unscathed (not counting scratches from douchebag neighbors) and the police are always in the area...

 

Atlanta area pay is almost identical to NOVA and the cost of livining is almost 30% cheaper. But you dont have the security of a stable job market due to the government being right next door.
