Just my 2 cents, but if you are going to mod heavy, the warranty does you no good, because as soon as something gives you trouble, Nissan blames it on aftermarket, so no not worth it, unless you stay mostly stock until the warranty is up.

i DEFINATLEY think its worth it if youre planning on keeping the car. Ive had to replace 2 hub bearings, alternator going bad, window greasing up, and I think the tranny needs replacing now. I say get it...you never know.

Basically my warranty has saved my *** big time and unless your going to tt sc or N20 your Z, then its definitely worth it. Ive gotten 2 transmissions out of mine and you can always sell it back to the company if you decide to go big.

if you live in northern virginia and you're not planning to do any modifications, sure. otherwise (which is for the most part) no.

depends on the cost of the warranty, and what it does/doesn't cover.

Also if your modded much don't waste your money...just save up for when something breaks.

i think it depends on your dealership. mine sucks they wont do anything and come up with any reason to say no. and yes i did extend my warranty and i regret it soooo much.

only things its saved me from having to pay is new tracks on my drivers side seat. $50 copay for a $500 track and then probably $150 in labor...but in the end....not worth it imo.

Glad to hear most think this is just the stealerships way of making more cash & saying no to those who have modded their Z's.

i`m a service advisor for nissan and i work with extended warranties all day, al i can say is you will be surprise as to how much money you can save but only if you buy nissan extended or from the make of the vehicle because they do not send an adjuster to check the car physically when its at the shop, its different with nissan. With nissan if its cover, they dont ask questions, it depends on the service advisor you deal with. i think it is worth it if you are planning on keeping the car for a long time

bahaha.....totally not worth it! My Z was certified when I bought it so it came with the 100k warranty, barley could get them to fix anything when it was stock, no chance in hell in getting them to even look at it now.

My EXT Warr. has replaced my tranny and just last week replaced my entire engine. Brand new long block. I would say it was def worth it, not to mention just about my complete bose sound system and seat rails

I've noticed that several people who said it was worth it for them have Z's that haven't passed the 3 yr factory warranty yet much less the 5 yr, 60,000 mile factory warranty on the drive train. Unless you are putting an unbelievable amount of miles on your cars, the regular warranty (not the extended one) would cover most everything.

Consumer advocates repeatedly advise against the 'bang for the buck' benefits of the extended warranties. Still, people must get some good feelings from having them or they wouldn't sell so many. Just remember, most of you are paying for those 'feelings' and little more.

2 cents please.
