Oops, I didn't mean that in a sense that I didn't believe the times

When did I ever say the Z would beat it? I just mentioned it would give the X a run for it's money. Settle down kiddo, your making yourself look bad.

congrats on the new ride, but I would not discount the ability of the new Z's, they will more than likely give your X a good run....

the X is a great car, but do remember that the IX is actaully faster in the 1/4 and on a road course... at least from everything I have read..

I am looking forward to seeing your 1/4 mile times, so we can get a better understanding of what the X can really do.

Thanks man. This is somewhat true about the IX, it is a tad faster, like .2 faster times in most categories. But AMS and HKS have tested both cars with the same bolt ons, and the new 4B11 engine in the X gains way more power than the IX with the same mods. I am going to wait for a little while before I start really modding it, dont want to be a guinie pig.

OK, my turn.

TIGHT-Z, as of right now, the HR Z's will SMOKE an Evo X in the 1/4. They're damn near as quick and just as fast as the fastest Evo IX stock for stock (fastest IX was 12.8 and quickest was 107). X's haven't come close to trapping 107 stock yet. On a road course the X will hand the HR it's ***. I'd like to see them go heads up just to see, but I don't think the Z would be able to keep up anywhere but in the staights (my opinion closely backed up by the X's amazing handling abilities).

Agreed. You get a SHITLOAD of power from tuning an Evo, and it's gonna be even more with the X since it's even more conservative from the factory (proven by the gains it's been making with bolt-ons and no tune).

The X has and will DESTROY a IX on a road course.

One major reason why the result on the magazine isn't accurate is because they use big *** drivers like Bigslim350z who weights 300 lbs and stands 6'11" and has slow reaction time. If they could use little quick guy like me, I'm sure the result would be better.

On a serious note... you guys are taking this discussion waaaay too seriously. The OP just wanted to share his new ride... He by no mean tried to criticize the Z!

Do you seriously believe NOBODY can run faster than magazine times? Especially at a track that is known for records on days with good DA's?

Back in 2003 when I had a Z, mags were running 14.1-14.2 @ 98-100mph

I ran 13.77 @ 101mph on the second pass, I gues that isnt possible is it? Drivers being equal, the HR will beat your Evo from a roll (where most street races happen anyway) 4/5 times....

edit-you keep mag racing saying the X will beat the Z in 1/4 and road course you are the biggest mag racer in the Mid-A!!!!! Even an unbiased Evo owner tells you that is false. Run your car otherwise your arguing has no merit.

I never once was negative so your whole argument towards me is moot.

Intake manifold welds are too weak, That combined with the piston rings frying like bacon and the floorboard not being able to stay connected won't let him shift into 7th gear.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/N...own_156067.htm

Stock X with just a MBC installed.

And alberto, give me about 8-10 months for parts to come out,and ill be happy to race you or whoever in REAL life, not "mag-race" on the 1/4 track and twisty track Thats if you dont blow another tranny by then j/k

The HR aint that fast s your making it out to be geez, didnt know the HR was GOD around the forums...

And BTW, you should read the article that track and road tested the new EVO X vs. US Nissan GT-R (not a HR Z). To sum it up, the X stayed almost even with it the entire time.

^ The HR is god in the stock Z world due to it's major increase in performance over previous Z's. It has the potential to run 13.0x and possibly even break into the 12's stock and trap over 108.

Trust me, you don't have to tell us what simple mods do on Evo's (I was proof of that back in the Mid-A, just ask Bert). But this convo is talking about stock.
