still debating, running street tires would be safe since I'm an hour away from home. Then again, I'm thinking about running radials and my 6 psi. tune and seeing how I do. Going to have to see if both radials fit in the trunk with the spare tire removed first.

Nope wont fit. You can take out your passenger seat and place one there.

2 rims and tires will not fit in the hatch area at the same time.

Just take out your passenger seat.

This is what I have been thinking:

a. Racers get 2 practice runs. One of our members records the ETs. We match the cars as close as possible. Say a 13.4 second car running against a 13.5 car. This way I do not race a 13.0 car or a 14.2 car. Cars will be evenly matched and more exciting to race and watch. The list will look like this:

17 - 14.2 seconds
16 - 14.1 seconds

15 - 13.7 seconds
14 - 13.6 seconds

13 - 13.2 seconds
12 - 13.1 seconds

There is plenty of room in the staging lanes for 30 cars.

or

b. Racers get 2 practice runs. The driver puts his best ET on the windshield. One of our members pairs the cars in the staging lanes for the next race. Again we race a 13.5 car against 13.6 car. The races with more competitive, exciting and fun to watch. This method is less structured and less time consuming than a.

not a bad idea dave, probably won't work every time but it could make for a good driver's race. I ran Zain last track day and we were dead even down teh strip. Pretty much whoever had the better reaction (me) won.

I can see a potential problem with (a). Communication. We have no PA or radios. The timekeeper is in the stands recording times. Who is organising the matches? That same person cannot run from the stands to the staging lanes. And if they are in the staging lanes they miss the ETs of the cars racing.

interesting idea, but it will prob be easier to just let people call eachother out and run whoever they want, it will be more relaxed that way......

not like it matters that much for me, I am sure Slim and I will get into it a bunch of times like we have previously.... and you can always just see what ppl are running and pair up with them

I like this idea too. I would like to see some good racing. I do see how communication is an issue, which is maybe why 'b' works best. I also think it's be cool if we could do some "Pinks" style racing. Not giving out lengths, but maybe handicaps. That would make for a driver's race for sure.

Also, looks like a great day for racing on Friday! High in the 80's and an overnight low of 66. Partly cloudy, 0% chance of rain.

Todd, all of these people should still be coming. Looks like both guys that were going to run are out though. George said he might run, if he can get ahold of some DR's, but it's not looking good. Although he might still come to watch.
Here's the list I have;
Adam(me) -Spec
Rachel(Fiancee) -Spec
Sean(friend of ours) -Spec
Megan(^'s wife) -Spec
Conner(^, ^^'s son) -Spec, cuz he's like 2.
Jasper -Spec
George -Race (Not sure now)
German- Spec
Adam(H4RDCOR3)-Spec
Matt - Spec (if healthy)
Jose "cavallinizx"- spec
Noel (1pctmsg) - Spec
Adam(Evo) - Spec
