Seeking Culinary Guidance...
Okay, so I've heard some great things about Thai food, but havent had the (apparent) pleasure of enjoying any yet. I don't wanna take a blind shot at some restaurant and have a bad experience leading me away from Thai cuisine. Any of you all know any good Thai restaurants in the NoVa area? If so, can you give me a brief rundown of the place(s) you know of (location, prices, etc.)? Thanks all.

Thai food unlike Chinese food, isn't very Americanized unless you order the "thai salad" or some crap off the applebees or other mainstream restaurants menu. With that being said, if it looks like a smaller hole in the wall place, chances are it should be pretty good.
I like bangkok kitchen, its right across from FT Meade in Odenton.
Thai food is really good, my only problem with it (at least in this area) is the portion sizes suck.
Drunken Noodle FTW
P.S integrity My I/C is bigger then your I/C... sucka!

House of Siam in springfield, va
It's family owned and run... so you get good service.. and good food.
2 dishes you gotta try.... if you're up to it:
1.) Beef Kapow (minced) with fried egg on rice - it's not on the menu.... just order it that way.
2.) Crab Fried Rice with fried egg
If you don't like eggs.. then just don't order the egg.

There's a Thai place in Fair Lakes shopping center, which is ok, but sakoontra is much better.
Tong Thai at University Mall (right across Braddock Road from George Mason) is also really good.
As far as hot Thai food goes, give this a try. Order your food, then ask the person taking your order to tell the chef not to make it spicy.
believe it or not they'll do as you ask. =)

This sucker is the biggest I've seen so far.
If only I could say the same about my pants =(
believe it or not they'll do as you ask. =)

Dude, spicy food ftw. In my household, we've eaten A LOT of cajun food and the spicier the gumbo is, the better it is for me. No reason to change that when eating Thai.
Sidenote...+1 to jeffie, that's a BIG freakin' intercooler. lol
