I know what you mean. Stock should be putting at least 250.
Im probably going to redyno at a third shop and AAM as well.

yeah. dont get me wrong anyone. I am in no way shape or form calling either shop out. Nor dissing them. I like my AAM products and extreme is an awesome shop.
Im just trying to figure out whats going on here with both mine and baspence's cars.

haha!I did 238.7/195 and 238.5/197 in 3rd gear with 5AT. 4th gear pull was at 220 range and don't remember tq. I ws disappointed as well but it is what it is. I know AT Zs really get killed on the dyno. Heard that from several sources. I have headers, rando tech cats, injen exhaust, injen intake, AAM reflash, HKSDLI II dualpower and AAM angeled plenum spacer for power mods. I was hoping for 250+.
I have seen discussions of dynos on other forums by people I trust. Weather makes a difference but how big, I don't know. I am by no means a dyno expert. The only reason I did it was to support the troops.

Heres an update: baspence went to extreme today and recalculated the dyno based on speed and not rpm.
Gave around 265 whp. (i dont remember the exact number)

crappy cell phone pics....
sean (the owner of extreme) put the pulls on the speed format instead of the rpm format because the plot was broken up. when you put it on the speed setting it was obviously not broken and could get a more accurate number. still not what I was hoping but not that bad. as you can see it was 90 degrees the time of my pull.

That's cool man, I understand about wanting to jump on the dyno. I'm just saying that it's not worth getting worked up about thinking you lost 20whp, trust me, you would know if you lost 20whp. I've got a place that I normally do all my runs at and those are the only numbers I take seriously. Dyno's are relative anyway, I've yet to see someone put consistent numbers down at several different places, there is always a margin of error within the dyno's calibration.
Here is my graph, it's an 03 touring 6-speed with MD 5/16" plenum spacer, test pipes, Blitz panel filter and ram air tube (Z tube).

It's higher than what most other people get with similar mods, and I doubt my car is any faster. I just picture it as this is what my car made on this day, at this dyno.
That sounds about right.. good numbers man, how come they had to "jimmy" it around to get that number? do they use different dyno??

A couple of threads you might want to look at from Fresh Alloy. I remember seeing a great discussion of dynos and doing corrections but just can't find it. My opinion is pretty much what Alberto said, pick a shop and use it every time you want to seriously compare mods. Then all you have to worry about is environmental conditions. What does it say when you can pick one way (say rpm) and then another way (say mph) and get different absolute numbers? That speaks volumes to me. What it says is depending on how you measure the whp you get different absolute numbers, in a nutshell. How would you like it if your bank account fluctuated depending on some measuring parameter? It's not an absolute number, like dollars. It does not surprise me much that two different shops get different numbers.

the reason it changed from rpm to speed is because the computer wasn't getting a good signal to read it correctly. basically the tach on the computer was jumping around and the power that it measured at the rpm with the jumping wasn't accurate. when you go by speed there's not multiple numbers for a given speed. that's why the number changed. we went back and were looking at it and the rpm was all broken up, changed it and it was a smooth line. we didn't change anything else, just looked at it in a different mode.
sbZenth: PM me with your name and I can grab the DRFs tomorrow, and send them over to you...or if you'd like I can just post a screenshot of the graph, SAE corrected.
Either way, let me know and I'll try my best to help you out.
