Ok 350Z Guys!!! MZC is starting the official planning for our big BBQ Meet/Wing off. We are still looking for two of you from my350Z to compete against Biz and me from 300ZXClub/Maryland Z Club, so who's up for it?

Oh you don't have to register to read the thread, just if you want to vote in the poll or post in the thread. I also will need to start a list of people and what they are bringing. I just started both threads, so there aren't many replies yet. But I will keep everyone posted.

Hmm...that link doesn't work for you huh? Well if you get onto the main page at 300zxclub.com and go down to the MZClub page under 'local clubs' or something like that. It's actually on the front page, and the thread is stickied in that forums.

But so far it's going to be at a park in Rockville/Silver Spring area. I'll get the address from Biz later. Just going to be a BBQ (cook-out if you will) and a wing-off. The wing-offs in the past have been between two MZC members but we decided to switch it up this year and Biz and I want to go head-to-head with two from here. I got this idea after someone here threw out the challenge in another thread that I started here a month ago or so.

After we all eat and maybe have a football game or something, we're going to plan a cruise somewhere for more hanging out, and photo-ops.

But seriously folks, the term "Wing-Off" was coined by me at the first annual MZC BBQ, it was sort of a joke, but it stuck. Yes, it is a wing grilling competition. This year, we're revamping it to include judges, taste testing, and voting. It used to just be, you hung out, ate some wings, and pick the one you liked best. Well, Biz and I tied. So now, after a challenge in a previous thread, it's going to be MZC (Representing 3ZC) vs my350Z.
A Z31/32 -vs- Z33 show-down. I'm even trying to get a special guest judge or two, but we'll see how that goes.

I'm still working out the details, but the way I have it in my head, we'll need two Z33 competitors, and two Z33 judges. First two PM's I get for each job get the spots.

With as many people as I am hoping coming, I'm going to try to have some sort of name tag so we know who's who.

 

I've gotten some good feedback from you guys so far. So, here's what I'm thinking:

I posted this before, and didn't really get much feedback from it. But, since one of you Z33 guys challenged me, and I ran the Z31/32 -vs- Z33 past Biz, we're teaming up to face whatever two guys from My350Z.com step up. I want this to be like an actual competition this year too, so I need two judges from My350Z to taste, and judge all of the different types of wings prepared. First two PM's I get, get the spots. The judging will be done via blind taste test, and a tally of votes. I am working on score cards.

Each team will provide three flavors of wings:
One flavor from each team member, and one that is a collective effort.

The judging criteria will be:
1) Doneness...........0/5
2) Appearance........0/5
3) Sauce...............0/10
4) Over-all taste.....0/20
Possible 40 points. The totals will be counted and the most points wins!

 

Two judges from 3ZC are Dave(Gino) and Dean(ZleeperTT).
