HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Need Suggestions for an Amp!
Long story short: I went to Fresh Designs in CP last week to get the factory speakers replaced with some reasonably priced Kenwoods. The installer said, these are only slightly better than the factory ones and you may want to consider going with a subwoofer option. Didn't want to do this and said peace and rolled out. Turns out, he was right and now my car sounds crappier than a Taco Bell toilet.
I've already got a 12" Kicker sub (Dual 4-Ohm) on order but I need to get an amp to power all four speakers and the sub. Any of you guys have some recommendations? I searched the Aud/Vis section but I wanted some Mid-A opinions based on what some of you guys are running.
Any suggsestions would really be helpful....

You probably did.
He was probably the installer as well although he might have been still working on that PIA Denali.
You don't need alot of power for that...Do you have a price range you're looking to stay in?

I was flipping through an old custom audio magazine to get some ideas, and one car had a 1000 watt 5-channel amp (can't remember the name, sorry) running a similar set up (4 mids, 1 HU, 1 subwoofer + 1 capacitor). I searched Crutchfield after purchasing that sub and they didn't have anything that matched exactly.
I told your brother and the other guy installing my speakers (dark hair, glasses, goatee) that I want to keep this as stealth as possible and don't want any wires, amps, subs to be visible through the rear hatch.
Price wise, I'd be willing to go a couple hundred I guess. Nothing over $1000 if that's possible.

Also look up some of the Kicker 5 channels. I don't think they have any of those in right now or call Arthur and the guys up at Car Toyz 2 and see what they have in (or they can call for you). A little more power for your highs and a simple wattage for your sub is all you need (Im guessing from what you're saying).
Edit: Do you have a aftermarket set of highs in the front?

I was there last weekend and I know they have some stuff laying around that would be perfect for that. The only thing I see being an issue is the sub...that may have to be visible b/c 1. its not a "free air" sub and 2.the fabrication to "hide" it behind the seat and make a box for a 12 may get a little pricey. From what you're saying a simple 10" may have suit your needs perfectly and is much easier to "hide" in a Z.

Thanks for the help/advice! I called Crutchfield and they made some recommendations. So when I make it back out there I'll have the following:
Kenwood KFC speakers Hi-Mid (already installed)
Streetwires Power Station PSC401 1-farad Capacitor
Kicker Comp VR 12" Dual 4-Ohm Subwoofer
Eclipse XA5000 5-channel Amplifier
Hopefully they can manage to fit the sub behind the driver's seat (where the Bose would've gone?) and place the amp and capacitor in the little space between the strut bar and the rest of the hatch.
Note: I'm not really looking to build something that's going to rattle the windows of the cars next to me, but all that treble is getting annoying
