Thats why Im middle. I just played devils advocate cuz I like it.
I know this, but the only thing we have is the video. Its more than enough to get people sentenced to death row (video i mean), so you have to put some faith in it. As i said, i hope they find it was already dead, or stuffed, but its been quite a while, and i'm sure that one of his fellow marines would have said something by now if he was innocent. I cant imagine why they would let him and in some way, the armed forces in general, look bad for the world to see.

Even if it was dead and the vid faked, when i drive by and see a dead dog or cat on the road, the last thought in my head is to make a vid of me tossing it off a cliff, and think its funny. You know what i mean?

You also aren't stuck in a desert for 15 months at a time.

I'm not condoling animal murder, or even what he did, don't let his mistake ruin your opinion of the rest of the US Armed Forces.

Yep, I got you. But I think the fellow marines didnt say anything because they are scared of being publically criticized. It is a gazillion people to about + or - 10. Hey maybe they are scared of something like what just happened in this thread.

Since there was a video and a squeel, people maybe more convinced with the video than the fellow marines. Thats my 2 cent.

so where do you draw the line then huh? Just what to you is acceptable after a 15 month rotation. My father Lt. Cmdr, in the Navy for 20 years, he was a pilot (flew E2-C, A-4, and T-2 buckeyes), and instructor and a LSO, was at sea on the Midway (which was a training carrier at the time), the Enterprise, and one more i cant remember, for 8-10 months, not counting those months the cold war got hotter and he was gone for much longer. He saw a few hundred students get killed doing their job, and doing stupid things...and yet, he never snaped and raped anyone, or tourched animals, or any **** like that. Now granted he wasnt in combat. But i really doubt any one in the service is going to come and say that night carrier landing are completely stress free? Or how easy 8 months away from home is compared to 15.

So what is ok by you then huh? Where is this line in the sand?

This will never ruin my opinion of the US armed forces, it does ruin my opinion of one now ex-marine.

I have no idea what is acceptable after 15 months, I've never been deployed. I do know that **** happens, and you won't be the same from it. My father, 25 years in the Army, O-6 (and hopefully going higher ) has done numerous 9 month tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I was gone for his most recent one. While my father might not have been in direct combat, he was mortared every day, shot at every day, and constantly had to keep his eyes open. Can you imagine spending months upon months that way?

Oh before I go to bed, Id like to squeeze in one last point.

Since the dog is being killed in a slow painful death, what should we say about the kids in other countries dying because of no food or safe water. We have the choice to either send money or not.

The marine had a choice to throw the dog or not. The marine threw the dog, so we dont send money to save a child?

KTHXBYE!!!

You are a tool. You think because you "serve your country" you are above everyone else? You could be cleaning toilets for all we know. Do you think that justifies that idiots actions? You share the same d!ckhead mentality that many people I know in service have and that sad. I agree with what Integrity has said to you, I couldnt have said it better myself. You say you dont condone the actions in the video, but are quick to defend the guy. And you do have bad memeory and/or are blind if you see a dead puppy in the video. I already thought you were an idiot, now its been confirmed.

When did I say that? It's funny how you mention that I think I'm above every body else, coming from you, that doesn't really hold up well. Again this shows another instance of you having to be right, no matter what. I'm glad you think I'm an idiot, I think you're a spoiled punk that gets everything he wants from daddy.

I'm not "quick" to defend the guy, the video has been out for a while now. I believe that it's a hoax, that is the reason I defend him. Media is blowing it up to make it look the worst it can, and I'm against that.

You don't know me, and truthfully, your opinion doesn't matter much, if at all. God forbid I go against something the might Alberto says. Maybe I can toss too much money in to my car, and think I'm the most badass guy on the forum. Me and you are two completely different people buddy.

This thread is useless, can it be closed yet?

Default Lets Break It Down:

1. A GUY - ANY GUY, THAT GRABS A PUPPY - LETS AN IDIOT FILM HIM AND THEN POST ON YOUTUBE THROWING A PUPPY OFF A CLIFF DESERVES PUNISHMENT. SOLDIER OR NOT, VIDEO TAPE OR NOT!!

WHAT PUNISHMENT EXACTLY IS UP TO THE COURTS TO DECIDE.

2. YES A HUMAN LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN A PUPPIES! HOWEVER,
IN WHAT RIGHT MIND (grown mans mind) DOES SOMEONE THROW A PUPPY OFF A CLIFF?? - exactly its not justifable on ANY level! We are talking about a grown man, that knows right from wrong! not a child! this isn't a frog that a 5 yr old kid lit a firework on!

ANY RESPONSE TO THAT IS JUST AND IDIOTS REBUTILE TO TRY AND SAVE SOME FACE ON SOME LEVEL - YES YOUR AN IDIOT IF YOU THINK It's OK. DON'T RESPOND, JUST THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU START TYPING AND CALL YOURSELF AN IDIOT.

SOLDIER OR NOT!
FOR ALL YOU SOLDIERS ON HERE - YOU SHOULDN'T BE DEFENDING HIM, YOU SHOULD BE PISSED AT HIM FOR DEFACING THE VERY UNIFORM YOU EACH WEAR.

I'M NOT COMING ON HERE PICKING FIGHTS ON OTHER RESPONSES I'M JUST STATING FACTS BASED ON THIS COUNTRY'S LAWS AND MORAL AND CORRECT UPBRINGING. FACTS! TRUTH!

I HAVE FRIENDS OVER THERE....SOME ARE DEAD! I PRAY THE OTHERS COME HOME. -TEAR-

I agree ^^^ except for the idiot part

Maybe my original posts made it sound as if I was defending him as an individual, merely because he is a Marine. That's not what I intended, my emotions got the best of me, because I've had this conversation with many people, some are screaming cut his head off, others are saying just let it ride. I am against the people that find every angle to rip the Armed Forces for no reason. The people that have and never will taken the oath.

Whether one scrubs toilets, or works on the ground in Iraq, every individual contributes to the mission, no matter what it be. My mission is the skies of DC, every unwanted aircraft that I keep out of DC is another potential life that was saved. That guy that cleaned my toilet and kept me happy for another day of work deserves just as much credit. I'm not claiming that I am some hero, nowhere close, but some of our troops out there are, and that get looked passed for things like this. Yes, it was stupid of the Marine, and yes it does anger me that he makes every body serving look bad.

Please just don't think lesser of every other individual, or the Armed Forces as a whole, for one persons actions.

End Rant, End Posting. Sorry if I offended anybody, but thats the way I feel. Keep bashing me if you want, because hey, I can take it. Tomorrow morning when I wake up, it won't matter to me. Plus I have high flow cats coming, and putting the HKS tomorrow, so I'm happy any way
