all in all its been fun owning and driving the car...the way the torque curve is on the Vortech...the transition into power is seemly and very unpredictable...

as in I passed a car that was going slow in the fast lane, then had to smash the brakes because I was almost in tripple digits by the time I passed it...

Air Fuels are a constantly between 11.7 and 12.1 all the way through the RPM range once boost hits at 2500RPMs!


These A/F are too high my friend. You need to be at 11-11.5 or you will suffer a blown motor.

 

Its not running rich however at only 8psi...those AF are fine...go 9 10 or 15 and you are correct....that would spell trouble.

 

I want an LS swapped Z so bad that I am litterally dreaming about it. I called Noah and was like :

A/F above 11.5 is too lean for FI and detonation is inevitable. The ony exception is if you are running race fuel or a water meth kit. I'm only trying to look out for you. Ask any reputable tuner on this site and they will agree.

 

anything richer then an 11.5 is going to start booging the car down and loading it up i ran my procharger setup between 11.7 and 12.5 with step colder plugs for two years and about 15,000 miles and som of those miles were hard i mean hard miles and never had a problem, corey your a/f ratios are good man

Overly agressive timing is the main cause of detonation. The main reason for a richer A/F ratio is to cool the combustion process. As long as combustion temp is held within check you can lean out the charge to get better fuel econmy and drivablitly.

 

I will call to get the exacts but I told him if its 340 wheel with the tune being conservative....give me that.

I will ask him the exacts...he said between 11 and 12 but I will get the exacts...

Considering N/As run 14+

Timing is very conservative...he said he could of gotten close to 400 if he pushed it...

I am happy and I appreciate all the feedback. No need to start a war on such a glorious event/situation... its funny....I punched it like 3 times driving back from Bmore and then I hit the cruise threw on some old school DMX and got 28mpg on the highway...

It went great Dutch...they basically did 1/3 of the install over and didnt charge me an arm and leg to do it. (wiring and a few vacuum lines).

I will be going back to add so cosmetics/luxuries.

It was not his AF ration tune at 12.1, it was his boost level of a stupid 12 psi!!

Again, I like the feedback and your information made me second guess. This is a good thing, but really I trust no one, not you or myself for that matter. I love to be challenged to make me do more research.

I read through like 5 of NEXX post to find that he was not running a REVUP from what I can tell which have heads that flow a lot better than the pre 05G or 06Z, but even if he had a rev-up motor at 12psi... I am surprise the car made it off the dyno! Like I said 8psi, I feel that 11-12.0 ( called to verify my AF dont go over 12.0) is OK...add one lb of boost and that thresh-hold starts to go down and fast...at 12psi he should of been running 10.5 or 10.8 IMO.

Keep the feedback positive and constructive all... thats why we are hear...to learn and have fun while doing so.

PS I just went to the post office during lunch ( I walk to work so i dont drive everyday)...it was by far the happiest trip to the fregging congested post office I have ever had...BOOOOOooooooost FTW!

If I could start over.... I would have a bone stock G35C with boost and rims...nothing else matters!
