Unless it is specifically made for IMAX, it will almost always be different from the 35mm standard, whether it is run time or picture quality....Also, Chris Nolan, the director of batman ONLY wanted his movie in 35mm... i watched it at the imax theater at the air and space museum at dulles and from what i underetand they shot a lot of the movie sepcifically for IMAX. you could tell when it switched from imax format to standard as the size of the picture would change. In imax form it took up the whole screen and in regular format it had black bars at the top and bottom. i dunno if they cut it short at some theaters but the imax i watched it at the movie was over 2.5 hours and thats without previews.
im watching it on imax again this week! so good!
