Default Buying a G35 Soon! Got a Few Questions

Don't ask me why buy I'm buying a G soon. I'm not getting rid of my Z. It's an 04 G35. Is there any common issues with 04 G35's that I need to be concerned about before purchasing the car? Do all the 03-05 350Z common issues like tire feathering, bad window motor apply to the G35? I am going to check out the car this weekend. I'm trying to come up with a list of things to look at. Help me out here!

only the 2005-2006 300HP (rev up) motors have the oil issue...

also you can upgrade the center console to the 2005...its well worth the 150 bucks....

the 2004 or older Gs are solid bro....no issues that I know of...only the 2005 oil shizzil and 2006 headlight issues...I never heard of window motors going out but you might want to do a quick search on the g35driver forums just to be sure.

Nice man....welcome to the elite club of having a back seat and trunk FTW!

the model you have is the same motor that SuperChargedG is running those Greddy Twins on after running a Stillen SC for a few years on that Auto!!! I think they are good to go...lol

yea, only REVUP got oil consumption and it too seem sporadic. No tire feathering but the 03-04 window motors do go back at around 75K, mine went at 90k. No really issue that I can think so. If you're getting a manual, the clutch is harder for te 03-04, but...you get BREMBO!!

I have a 63k mi 04 G35 6MT
Issues that I had...

1. Seat braket for the driver side, it "clicks" moves forward and back(warrantee, fixed)
2. Rattle on the rear right passenger area... (radio is good)
3. Gas guzzler... I get about 20-22 mix driving... 18-20 when I push.

other than that, I had no problems. I drive about 16k-18k mi a year and I still love my car.

Mine's got 80.5K on the odo... No window motor issues... Def tire feathering but it doesn't seem to be as dramatic as the Zs I've seen, but it does roar... Def tranny issues with the synchros (mines worst going into 2nd and 3rd)... My head unit pooped out on me and then miraculously started working again a few days later; no issues since. All and all I'm very happy. Before I started looking at Zs I was thinking about an '02 WS-6, and at 80K I'm so glad at the choice I made because the fit and finish is still immaculate.

It's not really that bad... I haven't even TRIED doing anything about the tire roar... And as far as the tranny... well I kinda knew the risk I was taken by buying an '03. It's really a great car, I love it!

preech ... like I said I've never tried to do anything about it. But I'm getting new tires soon so it's about time for a fix.
