I found the head unit i want. Its kenwood DNX8120. I really dont wanna mount it where the factory one goes cuz then id have to look down from the road to see the gps. Does anybody know if i can put it in the spot up top like the ones w/ nav have it & if so do i have to get a diff molding to hold it? Has anybody done this yet??

 

short answer = yes you can do it
you will need a 7" touch screen stand alone monitor from kenwood and an 03 cubby
Im not sure about your newer HU but I read up on it in the fourms for my older 6019 but never got around to doing it. I just have my dvd on the upper and navi is fine on the HU. If you are talking about actually mounting the HU in the cubby that will take some fiberglass and modding.

 

Yea... its a 1 piece HU & thats where i think its safer to put somethin w/ GPS. Its a 7" touchscreen. u know of anybody in Hampton Roads that can make a piece that will fit it? Also i wanna move the "cubby" to where the stereo use to be.
