So this has been an on going issue that I've experienced ever since I moved to the US as a teenager. Why do guys love to lie about their height in the US?!?!?!?! Almost every guy claims that their height is an inch or two taller than what they really are. Another observation is that guys that are 5'8" to 5'10" all claim that they're 6 feet tall. I guess we all understand the idea of relativity. I'm 178cm which is about 5'10". A guy who is obviously shorter than me claims that he is 6'? Hmmm.... how in the world does it happen? The funny thing is when I point it out to the person, he would say, "Then you must be like 6'1"".

PS: And 6' = 182.88cm!!!!! I can't stand people arguing that 6' is exactly 180cm.... Stupid people make me want to shoot myself!

Where were you from originally? Remember here in America size counts. Plus they're probably stating their height with shoes on. I'm 6'1 in my shoes but I tell people my actual height. Get measuring tape and show him and shut him up.

HEY I'm 6ft and I'm Thai. haha But I'm a rarity. When I went to Bangkok and Phuket I had to duck in most places.

 

Last time I measured my height was back in senior year of HS, and I was 6' 1.75"
So I doubt I grew since then, and I usually say, "A little more than 6 feet", when asked.

 

Or the title should state: "Why do ASIAN dudes lie about their height?"

Fixed and the simple answer is cuz we have to. But whenever I feel "small" I just think to myself "Man! I'm huge for an asian!!!"

 

I think I only met like 1 Thai thats any where close to 6 foot. Though I might be like most typical Thais at only 5'6 but I make up with width, I guess.
