Snow Day!
Trending Topics
So today I went out for some snow drifting in the hood. Tried a power-over drift @ a 90 degree corner and well... that didn't work out too well!
Turned steering wheel... car didn't turn, kept on going straight from the forward momentum.
"HmMm... oh chit..."
*braaaake*
*still doesn't stop.. starts sliding straight..*
Oh what's that up ahead? ... A tree!
*starts sliding toward the tree*
*brake brake brake braaake* (more sliding)
So I'm about 3ft from the tree sliding at 1mph... 2ft...1ft.... 1inch... *BAM!*
Yes, I smacked another tree. But this time it wasn't so bad since impact was @ 1mph and didn't do squat besides chip a finger nail-sized scratch (not picture worthy)
Today I learned: cannot apply rain drifting techniques in the snow
On that note, since I majorly failed @ power-over, let's do something easier... hand-brake... actually nawww.. we don't do *easier* in drift school, we do HARDER!
Next attempt: Snow-Inertia Drift (where you swing your car in 1 direction, and mid-way through the drift you swing it in the other)
In order to motivate me not to mess up, I had to pick a parking lot w/ a buncha cars to use as "cones," so if I mess up... (wait.. abui never messes up in a drift.. wtf is he talking about...) Failure is not an option!
Got adaquite speed to initialize drift:
*Popped e-brake* and sent the car "slideways"
*counter-steer.. counter steer... counter-steer*
*tap gas gas gas*
Car corrects itself! Yesss... now for the next part
*Power-Over drift* car gets swung the other direction
*counter-steer... counter-steer.. counter-steer*
SUCCESS!!
PS. This chit is HAAARD to control!!!
PSS. Next attempt: snow covered highway exit ramp. Will report later 2nite
PSSS. here are fun things to do w/ AWD

I couldn't even get out of my street. Snow and freezing rain and mild temperatures makes for major slickness. I couldn't get ANY traction. I'm online looking for tire chains/cables.
It stinks. I have decent rain/snow tires and have never had any trouble before, but today I traveled about 60 feet on my street and had to give up. I could back up OK, but forward wouldn't work. I guess I could back all the way out of my subdivision and then flip it around on the regular streets.
Or, I could pick a nice warm spot on the couch and snooze. OK. Snooze wins!

Glad I left my Z at home.
On the way to work my I slid my brothers neon into the sidewalk and banged up the front right rim. People always crash on the street where my job is located (when it snows) because it is uneven as hell and they never plow it. I was going pretty slow and started braking way before I hit the curb but it was a lost cause. Right after I limped the car to the the parking garage, two others slammed into the same spot. One of them worked in my IT dept. and totaled his civic
