wow that sucks real bad. Im glad you're OK... so what the truck just couldnt stop or what or was it because of the rain? With a damage that bad you should get a lawyer and make sure you go get everything checked out by a doctor. I've was in a minor accident a while back and as a result I have a bulging disc on my lower spine.

Yea they're awesome cars and it doesn't hurt that you could build one from top to bottom for the price of a stock used Z. I know SR's and 240's back and forth so if you have any questions just ask.

Yep I did a redtop swap in my 92 hatch AKA the lil' green machine. It's not hard at all. It gave me a chance to learn cars at a young age and had one of the first SR swaps in Portland.

In all due respect, I think it's a blessing that you are ok. Most cars in the size of the Z don't usually survive hits from a big rig. Your Z can be easily replaced, you, on the other hand, can not. I know it'll be hard to get back into driving as I have experienced a very close call with a big rig myself... just slowly work yourself back into it, and I say get an 08 Z ( I would say an 09, but I hate the 370s.. )

Seriously, I drove like a grandma for like a couple of months before I up'd my speed again.

Just so you don't feel alone, here's my story. Back in '99.. I had an Eclipse, and I was headed home around 8 @ night on the I-5 (which there was a fair amount of traffic)... Well an astro van was swerving in and out of lanes, so I decided to pass cautiously. Next thing you know, the van went into my lane and clipped my back end sending me into a 720 spin into three lanes of traffic... I was only 19 at the time and had no real defensive driving skills, so I just froze and held the steering wheel straight and tight. As I was spinning, all I saw were lights spinning and heard a large horn of a 18 wheel pass right by me. I honestly thought I was going to die. Luckily someone was watching over me. A brave man in a black suburban stopped all of traffic, which was flashing lights, so I think he was a government agent, and told me to get to the side of the freeway. I made my way to the side, and just sat there breathing heavily, until my friends were able to pick me up.

So yeah, this type of stuff is scary, but don't let it hold you back. Jump on it and get a new Z..

plus 1 on you being ok...

i wouldnt buy a new platform if you plan on playing with the car...if you leave it pretty much stock then the 370...

I like G35 Coupes myself...so much more room and it has a trunk that you can actually use.

Thanks God youre Ok that truck could easy crush you and stopped that loving heart of yours from beating...

get all your goodies out of the car soon...those shops are shaddy!

[sigh] Everytime a Z gets totalled, an angel loses his wings. Sorry to hear about your car. I have to travel through VA to go to a baby shower and this is seriously making me rethink my plans. VA has too many crazy drivers and overzealous cops for my taste...
Hope you'll be up and running in something else soon!
