Round 3 Front Bumper: Hopefully this 1 stays in 1 piece
You guys knew it was going to come... alright maybe I'm 1.5 years late (but that's only because McDonalds was cutting their employee funds) I finally managed to be the "Top Fry Guy" (as they called me at work) in order save enough funds to grab me a new front end.
I told my buddies after I had smashed my 2nd bodykit, that I would buy a 3rd one to smash. Well, this hasn't been smashed yet... heck... it's not even painted yet... nor installed! But anyhow - on the off-chance say my noobsauce overwhelms me and I do end up smashing this one as well; I'll make sure to destroy a widebody next!
Measuring it up and test fitment: (I'm still debating where I should stick that oil cooler... HmMm...)
Now I fully believe in the art of over-doing things... but it doesn't stop there. You gotta overdo it + get spare parts just incase what you overdid blew up in your face. (Hence the multiple bumpers/headlights/taillights/motors) or anything you can possibly name that goes onto/into a car - All while educating your gf on what in the world this hobby actually is and why we spend thousands on pieces of plastic, metal, and rubber which has piled up in our garages. (They totally don't get it for some reason... and I totally don't blame them!)
Without getting too in-depth, I simply tell her, "its a ricer thing, don't worry about it." OR "it's just JDM, if you hear any of the guys mention JDM, it's a good thing." She recently learned what carbon fiber was; needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed even though she has no idea what it does besides look hella cool plastered over any bucket of rice whether it added or subtracted functionality.
In my late years of life - I went on a tire frenzy... don't ask, maybe it's a mid-life-tire-crisis?
So as of tonight, I officially have uummm.. 20 tires in my garage... all different brands and all for different types of roads - (This is when you know you're hardcore JDM... okay maybe not, but at least I'm trying)
On that note, if you want to be a true ricer... you gotta have a bunch of misc random crap in your garage that both belongs and doesn't belong to your car. I think I've accumulated parts from 12-15 different rice mobiles in my garage.
(A pathetic attempt at slipping in a sales ad in this thread; but in all seriousness, if you want it - shoot me a PM )
This was one of the latest tail light projects - as you can see it never got completed but at least I have a spare!
However, after all the rice talk, she got excited and wanted to go rice hunting:
With Ethan's xB, which has roughly 427fwhp and 562lbs. Opps, I didn't tell you I threw in a V8 in the back while you let me borrow it did I?
So we found this ricer on the road during our hunt - I had to snap a picture for you guys:
Gotta love down-force on a truck. BTW, I totally gotta rock those JDM stickers on the Z (see above on the door of the xB)
And if you guys don't know what those words say... all I gotta say is - you aren't true JDM or straight Rice.
PS. a little history - after the 2nd time I smashed a bumper, I placed the stock one back on... a WEEK later someone reversed into my stocker (which conveniently bounced off since it was plastic) but imagine if it was another fiberglass one... that wouldn't have been pretty. This thread then would have been titled, "Round 4!" Maybe a round 4 thread will be coming in the next few months knowing my luck.
PPS. thanks for the Z guys who managed to meet up at the back of the lot, the owner here said you had nice rides. If anyone else rolls through the drive-through M-F from 2pm-5pm, ask for Judy and tell her you know me - she usually hooks my buddies up w/ a free Sundae cone.

You should be a writer or something, your topics are hilarity.
BTW id take a messy garage like that with tons of parts over any of these pristine garages I see that looks like no work gets done in them.

Dayam! This man is gooood! As much as I tried to conceal its identity, he has solved the mystery. How did you know only by seeing the corners of the bumper?
That's not even half of it LOL
If you want to get it painted let me know because I'm going to put this sucker in the paint shop soon - good opportunity to paint anything Lemans all at once including interior pieces and such.
My nerdiness is actually working on a top secret super ricey book at the moment. Can't release the details yet but I'll be sure to release a sneak-peak chapter for Mid-A
Yea man, lemmie know if you wanna cruise! Ask your parents to bring up some of that authentic cuisine too, that chit was off the hook, I still can't get over it, hahahaha
OMG no strut bar yet?!?! How can a ricer like yourself NOT have one? *shame shame shame* I was going to save this till when I get my Cosworth Plenum, but you need this more than me ASAP!
It didn't apply anymore after I found out what it costs for a Do-Luck or Type N replacement (1k+ yea right, the Asian'ness is kicking in) Yes another Fiberglass bumper! But it's okay since the miss is a garage queen now.
Beautifully as you can see:
Huge weight savings over the generic "under strut sub" that everyone else has and fits like a glove - nor does it fly around in the back. It's the only 1 in existence for the Z since it was custom made. I was going to use this for my track setup but it'll rub the roll cage and I wouldn't be able to take it out w/o removing the cage itself.. boooo!
Here's a shot of the Kicker Components:
And yes... the speakers are... dum dee dumm dumm... Carbon Fiber!!! =O (this is when you know you're straight rice)
