Yup, that's why I say they will fall in love w/ you regardless if you have a job or a car... but will they stay for the long haul? Do you see any families where the woman works and the man stays home? LOL

Girls dating a guy w/ no job is pretty common, they need to get it out of their system and when they're ready to settle down, trust me... it ain't gonna be w/ that doo-rag wearing loser @ the metro.

And to think I wasted all that time in college/grad school when I should've been perfecting my dice rolling skills and my mad tyte rhyming techniques...

+10000...

I should've followed the legacy and started up a Chinese carryout and makes 6 figures dropping out from 10th grade.

Instead I chose to be a computer programmer and be called a "nerd" and still paying off my college loan.

Do-rag wearing thugs FTW!

That counts as him still contributing to the family. I was speaking in regards to those guys who do absolutely nothing w/ their lives. No job/no future/no career/no goals - no 1 in their right mind would stick around w/ a guy like that. Even men don't stick around w/ men like that unless he's equally as loser'ish himself. Heck, I'd rather stay home and home-school my kids too, the public system sucks. You can't imagine the amount of ppl who graduate from college and are still.. dee dee dee

Oh crap, I hope all guys don't look at the organization of my purse/wallet. If so I am going to lead a very lonely life

Girls no longer have to rely on a rich guy to "take care of them" since they hold many high up positions in government and industry with good salaries as well.

So, hopefully the "job question" just ensures that your date will have his own income so that you can split the bills during dates.

Just my $.02
It's not really the income that I am interested in as I can more than take care of myself. I have learned a lot in my life and I have finally realized I want a man that has the ability to hold a job. I have found that I can't respect a man that can't take care of himself and has no goals to motivate him.

A fancy car doesn't help raise a family.
I don't think it REALLY matters to me what kind of car the guy drives but I am at a point in my life that I want a guy that can appreciate my hobby, which happens to be cars. I'm not so shallow that I wouldn't date a guy that drives a car that I feel is "beneath" me. Now the mustang guy? It wasn't because of the car he drove but his holier than thou attitude because he THOUGHT his car was made of awesome.

Let's face it, if you're a guy or a girl - you're gonna want your significant other to have a freakin' job. No one wants a loser - nor a dumbass. If he/she doesn't have a job that just means they're LAZY! So when a woman asks what your occupation is, it's not necessarily a shallow question; she's more so checking if you're going anywhere in life other than inside her pants.
You hit the nail on the head there!

Even if that is true, this guy was just completely dumb about cars and he was trying to sound cool.

Don't get me wrong, that wasn't the only thing wrong with him though haha

This is my #1 pet peeve w/ both men and women. Most guys glamorize their job position/titles just to sound cool about it. But in reality, they're just some paper pusher making minimum wage. Same thing w/ chicks w/ no future and rely on their good-looks to get by in life.

"So what do you do?"
"ohh... like for a job?"
"well, what else did you think I meant?"
"uuhh.. umm... I'm inbetween jobs... at the moment" (Translation: "I'm a lazy azz **** who hasn't had a job for a year cuz I think it's perfectly acceptable to leech off my rich daddy!" ...And yes, this was before the economy went to hell... pretty sad and pathetic eh?)

Same thing goes for cars, "I make 400hp.... ....*pause* .... at the crank...." It's like why advertise when it's not even all that great just to sound "hella cool" at some car meet to impress a buncha dudes

On a side note: Why is it that most hot girls you see are freakin' losers? 1 in every 10 I can respect, but the other 9 are in "La La" land. I suppose they grew up thinking their good looks will let them slide through in life so they never have to work for anything.

I do pretty well for myself and I think I'm a good person. That alone makes me feel comfortable with the fact that I'm not gorgeous haha

LOL! Most guys wouldn't know what to look for and they're terrible at cold-reading so you don't have to worry. However... take a pic for us! no cheating and rearranging stuff!

Ditching my 360 for a WII, ID kill a hoe for even suggesting that.

Bottom Line: If anyone in your life is trying to come between you and a happiness that is not hurting yourself or anyone around you-they are holding you back. Sure they may not agree with your hobby or even really see whats so cool about your car, but hey... its you and if they arent down then they arent down. I dont have a problem with people in my life telling me what I should do, neither should anyone. We are all grown by now, or close to it. Suggestions welcome, orders discouraged.
