Pretty excited man.. i was watching vids of 03-04 Z's with full bolt on's and tuned with the 3.9 rear end keeping up with the v8 m3's. if i can get to that point or close to it with the 4.08 gear... i'll be happy with my NA Daily lol

thats impressive out of an 03 just bolt ons....has anyone upgraded there VLSD? I have an 08 with VLSD and was curious if i should get different gears or LSD, or do i not need to worry about that? i just know a lot of people that do upgrade are the ones that got base or no LSD from the factory.

 

I have no LSD and I want one SO bad. But if you already have one, I would suggest just using that up and waiting until if it ever burns out. As long as you're not retarded rough on your car, it should last a very long time. But the aftermarket ones are noisy for the most part and are not always the best in the rain,etc..

 

Get a Quaiffe LSD, gear driven, no noise, only need to change the oil every 30k miles or so. Then again, this strictly depends on what type of motorsports youre engaged in. The stock VLSD is a **** poor excuse of an LSD. My stock VLSD sucked so bad I could only endure it for 5 days until i went n bought a Quaiffe.

i was trying to find vids of this so called "4.08" final drive that helps with acceleration. We have final drives for s2000's but they don't do nearly as well as the Z's because its a torque multiplier in a way.. and we all know, it takes more torque to loosen a lugnut than an s2000 puts down..

BUT if you can, "since i can't", go to youtube, look up 3.9 rear end or something of that nature.. there was a vid or a couple of them with the all bolt on/tuned with 3.9 gear racing a stock v8 m3 and kept up with him/her...

AND it was in NOVA... so i thought someone would have known about this..

 

Yea i have touring Z and I haven't yet really tried the rear yet... but i'll soon find out...

I figured for folks that don't have it like the Base models, just to get the quaife and the gear all at once if you're looking to do gears.
