depends on the thickness. 2.5" is about 6-7 minutes on my grill for med rare.
If you want to do medium I'd go with a thinner steak and cook it for the same time. maybe 1.5" but then you're losing that wonderful beefy goodness.
Just make sure you salt the steak more then you would think you need to. Most people always under salt EVERYTHING. They ***** about how people use too much salt on things but then ask why it is they can never make food taste as good.........

Yeah the first round of storms came through here about 630 and didn't do much, but the second round is the real deal.....at least out here it was.

Wow... seriously road rage! I came back to NOVA from Baltimore this morning. Some moron on I495 tried to cut into my lane and failed to check his blind spot so I gave him a little honk. He then gave me the middle finger?! Then he proceeded to cut me off again HARD on purpose. I let him, got next to him and grabbed whatever that I could in reach. It just so happened that it's a wrench! Wooohooo... Toss it over and def cracked his windshield. Dammit that wrench was like $10!

I have to agree with jeffie on the Ruths Chris and Capitol Grill. Especially capitol grill. Ive been there twice and was so pissed off about how much money I wasted. Ruth Chris just soaks their steaks in butter which I dont like. Also most people just get the filet mignon which makes no sense to me. Sure its tender but have you ever wondered why they cover it in blue cheeses or demi glazes or wrap it in bacon? because it doesnt taste like anything. The true test of a steak house in my opnion is the Rib Eye.
I also think people say a restaurant is good when they spend a lot of money because they dont want to admit they got ripped off or wouldve had a better meal at home on their Weber.
The only place ive been that has really good steak that I dont feel bad about spending the money on is the Prime Rib... I usually get their aged PR though. Its always so good.
I got some Grass Fed Rib eyes from an organic butcher/farmer whatever this past weekend. They were fantastic. One of the steaks was pretty thick and I had the same "roast" type of problem that jeffie was talking about. But the other ones were perfect. I wish I wouldve gotten some lobster tails now. Didnt even think about it. The older I get the more i realize I love cooking at home and for other people. The money goes so much further and you get to spend more on things you cant make yourself like good scotches, wines, and ports/madieras.
Im gonna be roasting a pig memorial day... now thats good eatin. Man im hungry
