I had the same attitude about Iowa for the longest time, and Chet Culver, raging liberal asshat that he is, signed shall-issue into law this year. Takes effect 1 January 2011.
Took us somewhere along the lines of 13 years I do believe.

Here's a couple S2000's I found with a real quick and dirty search:
11k (private seller, could probably wheel and deal a bit) Silver/black, 82k miles
Silverstone, 11k, 89k miles
I realize they're not at the 10k limit you mentioned earlier, but it's a start in the right direction i suppose.

Financial reasons.
I was on full financial aid for school up until this year. I dont want to be buried to my head in debt. Getting rid of the car so i can use that money to pay for school.
