Hey all! Semi new gun owner whose looking to expand a bit. So far I have a Beretta PX4 storm .40 cal., Glock22 .40 cal., Remington 1100 Magnum 12 ga., and a Mosin Nagant 7.62X54r. I don't have tons of money so I was looking into getting an AK-74 and/or SKS. I was just wondering if some of you have had any experience with them, bad or good, and if you could give a young padawan some advice.

I'm really leaning towards the Century Arms AK-74 they're offering on Centerfiresystems.com. I have heard many good and many bad things about Century Arms, mainly that the barrel is not chrome lined and overall quality. Basically, if I purchase the CAI AK-74, I'll be changing out the stock and grips and start saving for a chrome lined barrel and an AK gen2 Lightningbolt. Is this a good path to take or is it a dead end money pit in which I should just shell out the cash for a higher quality AR?

Buying a ton of guns does nothing for you if you don't know how to use them.

Do the research on each gun - ak47.net, ar15.com - great resources there tons of reviews - don't post asking questions though you will be flamed.

Before you spend a bigilion dollars on random guns, figure out what you need them for - home defense, training, precision, being tacticool, armchair commando - and go from there.

For a cheap and ruggedly dependable rifle, get an SKS. Here's a pic of mine, I bought it 'bubba' styled and it has shot every thing I've fed it so far without a problem. The only thing I did was remove the scope, I'm actually more accurate without it and these rifles require a more secure mount than the prior owner had if you don't want to lose your zero.

My honest advice to you is to just save your money and pick up Sig 556 or even a nice Saiga that you can modify to your liking. I'm only telling you this because it's what I wish I had done. I don't regret buying the SKS, but my thoughts now are why stop half way. With guns it's always worth it to be patient and get what you want, it's very easy to be impulsive with purchases and end up with something drastically different than what you set out to buy.

Hey guys I need some help:

I owned a bunch of handguns in Connecticut. However before I transferred my residence to Maryland I ended up transferring the guns to my brother. (he was going to use them way more than I was (CT being a conceal carry friendly state). Anyway I wanted a few of them back to go shooting but I have a problem:

Is it possible to transfer a handgun between a Connecticut state resident and a Maryland state resident (both private sellers)? I know the steps that are required of firearm sales between 2 MD residents I just wasnt sure if residency is the issue if both people are licensed and you go through the state police.

If its a pistol I believe that will require an FFL to FFL transaction. Somebody please correct me if Im wrong.

And in the spirit of the thread, I picked up this bad b!tch yesterday.

Sweeet! Give me a buzz when you and Dan hit the range again. I almost went by myself one weekend but wasn't sure if they'd have someone on hand willing to give me pointers [and make sure i didn't accidentally shoot a toe off].

Thanks Bert.
If you need an FFL or want to ask any Q's, myself and a friend have used Tim a few times, he is straight forward and very easy to do business with. Anytime I ever called or emailed, he has responded quickly (email) and instantly (phone). I just saw him yesterday.

Not my guns but my little brother who is at boot camp right now.

Mosin Nagant m44 Carbine
Mosin Nagant m44 Full Size-(idk what its actual name is- its the same gun as the one that was used in enemy at the gates- just without a scope- If you can find the scope its usually around 3 grand)

SKS with a 25 round clip
Ariska Rifle- 3- two have the emperors flower ground down- the toher one doesn't- worth around a grand

A few 22's from when we kids

Pops has a Benelli 12, glock 17-

shooting some of the guns. My little brother can hit a 12x12 pink piece of steel at 245 yds with open sights on a 65 year old gun pretty often. He is a beast hahah
