^ Again I still stand that people are profiled based on their behavior. And sadly it is true that a certain attire and actions usually reflect that behavior. It is like you watch TV and someone carries a knife into a store and robs the store. The next time you see someone else walks into a store with a knife, what's the first thing you think of? Oh he's just here to buy some milk? Noooo you'd automatically think that he's trying to rob the store. That's called behavior profiling. Even though there's a 1% chance that he's actually there to buy some milk and he just happens to forget to put his knife away, you'd obviously think of the more likely reason first. So if that 1% chance happens to be the case and it happens to be a black man, is that racial profiling? Noooo... it's behavior profiling!
So how do you avoid behavior profiling? In the case of carrying a knife to a store, just don't do it! In the case of getting pulled over by a cop, don't act like a badass (Being a thuggish figure does contribute to behavior profiling). Yes I mean you should act like a "*****" in that case. Being hard is just plain dumb and stupid.

You kinda contradicted yourself right there. So the car has dark tint meaning these police officers don't wouldn't know if it's a black/white/yellow/red man/woman until the window is rolled down. So when you did get pulled over and window is rolled down, you assumed you got the "evil eye" because you're black AND you give the "evil eye" right back because you are not a "*****"? Wow..... I don't know what else I should say. If I get pulled over for something or anything at all like tint or loud exhaust, I know I'll be that "*****" that you described and show all my respect to the officer even though I'm getting the "evil eye".
After asking me for my L and R which comes back clean..They then ask me to roll up the driver and passenger side windows and its a rap.... $120 tint ticket
Listen some off these officers over here think because they have a badge they can intimidate especially the younger cops.. Like i said before until you have been through such incident you'll never understand where im coming from.. Im not an individual whom looks for trouble btw.. I did'nt do anything wrong thats why im such an ******* when i get pulled over...
Im just trying to get to work thats all. These morons probably think i stole the car
Ive had my Z for over 2 yrs and never been pulled over once.. I wonder why its just a nissan

#1 reason to be pulled over is being a ricer: (regardless of race!)
Here is Kieran@DrivenDynamics. Cop parks next to him just to make sure he doesn't burn rice in the parking lot.

Here's me getting pulled over for rice profiling. They saw tinted tail lights and their rice-radar went off... 2 mins later.. BAM! Ticket! Who cares what race you are, as long as you're rice, you're screwed.

Here's Mr. Shiroma getting pulled over for no 3rd brake light... AND get searched!

After that fiasco, he goes and checks his brake light:

And it works!!!! Cops are ridiculous! Thus, it only leads us to believe that their rice-radar went off and a pull-over was absolutely necessary regardless if the ricer had broken any traffic laws.
Here is a pic of Umzzz getting chased down by the cops @ 120mph! As you can see from the pic, he was zooming by pretty quickly. We call this event: Rice Rage

Here is Kieran and mondi getting pulled over for doing a 90ft DRIFT!:

Here is Shocka I believe... getting pulled over for "rapid acceleration" and "speed contest!"

Here is ALL of us getting pulled over for being complete RICERS. We also got blocked in by 3-4 squad cars. Me and a blue mustang got radio'd in for evading... which we got away though of course. They radio'd in 2 cars going west.. which was totally predictable on their part, so we went West till we were out of sight... then bust'd a U-Turn... now all the cops are looking in the wrong direction LOL!!!

Conclusion: if you look like a ricer, drive like a ricer, act like a ricer, talk like a ricer... and it doesn't even matter if your car is stock... you WILL set rice radars off and get pulled over.

For everyone that wants to know. I just confirmed with my law enforcement desk that warnings do not show up on a report when we run your license plate or license. Now we enforce maryland state law but we have not seen a warning pop up on out of state ones either. Hope this helps/

Also, why did Dave get is car searched? Remember fellas, you can decline to have your car searched unless they have justifiable cause (like they see a bag of weed or dead body etc). I had passed out in my car, awoken by the cops knocking on the window. After a sobriety test (which I passed), they asked to search the car, and I said "No, I do not give you permission". He asked me why, and I said "Because I don't consent to an unwarranted search". End of story, I go free. 4th Amendment is great
I hope this holds true for VA... I just got a warning for "Disregarding a Highway Sign - Right Lane Must Turn Right". First written warning I have seen. You would think they put your warnings in the system, so if you get pulled again and have yet to get a ticket, they can say "boy, your luck just ran out".

^ what KMan said is correct, you can absolutely refuse a search and they cannot do anything about it. The only way he can search is if an illegal item is left "In Plain View." Otherwise, there is no probable cause. If they search without your consent, make them write down their badge # and sign off that "This was not under my consent."
To the OP:
Depends on the municipality. If the LEO gives you a written warning, it's normally just a CYA move for them documenting the stop. Unless an infraction is given, it shouldn't show up.
Some municipals give verbal, others written.
IIRC, tickets aren't put into NCIC unless you have a previous felony or serious midemeanor record.
Also, some municipals don't have reciprocity with other municipals.
So, in short....depends. :P

Regarding the other comments:
I find it interesting about being pulled over for certain cars. I've owned a lot of "modded" vehicles and haven't been pulled over once because of my vehicle. I've been pulled over 3 times for speeding, all of them warnings. I'm Filipino/White and I look "hispanic". I'm also covered in tattoos and have a bald head. I've driven a gutted, caged and swapped 92 Civic hatchback around for 8 months as a DD and was never pulled over.
When I'm pulled over, I do the following:
- turn off my car and place keys on the dash
- open my glove box and center console
- place both hands outside of my window
- ask permission to move hands when LEO asks for my license and registration
- answer with "sir" or "ma'am" i.e. "yes, sir...no, sir"
- always respectful regardless if he/she is in the wrong
I have several friends and a couple of family members that are/or at one time were LEOs and have respect for the job and know what they are looking for when they pull someone over. Non-verbals can give a lot away to the LEO. Being respectful goes a loooong way.
I was pulled over twice with my Z:
- speeding (45 in a 25)
- expired tags
I walked away with warnings for both.
