So I know you don't get a record when you get a warning. Like insurance company won't have access to it and such. But what about cops? Say you got a few warnings already, then you got pulled over and the cop looks up your driving record at the compute. Would the cop be able to see the warnings that you got? The reason I'm asking is because I just got pulled over this morning for very minor speeding on a local road. I had already gotten a speeding warning a few months ago (Back in March) and I was so sure that I'd get a ticket this time. But the cop gave me a warning and told me to "SLOW DOWN"... Well being respectful really did help and the non-flashy xB plus nerdy Asian in glasses also helped. Anyone that is a cop or has a cop friend that can answer my question?

Was this a verbal warning or did the cop actually hand you some sort of documentation? I wonder the same thing. I've gotten verbal warnings but the other week the dumb cop actually handed me a "warning" ticket. Obviously the verbal warnings wouldn't get recorded because they didn't write any of my information down, but with the paper ticket its got all my information down, it just says warning not an actual citation...
BTW this is also FFX county not Maryland so who knows if it is the same for you due to the fascist in NoVA

Im sure a 6 -2 Black Trinidadian will be treated differently than a nerdy looking asian kid with glasses driving a 7 series.. Nassau County then NYPD are the worst..... Until it happens you, you'll be ignorant about the profiling topic!!!
The car has tints on it and thats the only thing they can get me on after they check my record.

Interesting that you think race does'nt play a role in getting pulled over...

In conclusion.. it's not about your race/color, it's about how you present yourself.

Yup you're 100% right. Growing up as minority myself I knew that race did play big part of myself. But as I aged I realized it's not always others' problems but sometimes it's myself. If you let yourself fit into a certain stereotype, then hey it's YOUR problem. Let me try to explain to you what I mean by that... OK you think the stereotype that gets pulled over by cops are big, thuggish, do-rag wearing black men. Now think about it again... Do the last part really come in play? What happens if it's a big tall, thuggish, do-rag wearing WHITE man? Do you think he'd have any advantage over the black man? Now you pull the Asian nerd thing which I totally agree that they don't get pulled over as much. Apply that to a black man.. A nerdy glasses wearing clean cut black men in business casual getting pulled over, do you think he would get away with a warning a little easier? Hellz yea!!!

I'll let you know that im not a do-rag thug wearing individual... Im on my way to work when these events happen.. Im a Bar Manager and my attire is on part with that every damn night!!!
I'll tell you exactly what my problem is. Its when these police officers gives me the evil eye, I give it right back and hard and sometimes laugh at them. Im not intimmitated by anybody and dont care if you have a badge neither. Like i said the car has tints, and thats the only damn thing they can get me for.. Perhaps i should just look away like a ***** and give them the satisfaction but thats not me..

Well VA officers are known to be extra **** in general. Also did you really think you got pulled purely because you were black or you had something illegal on your car (missing front plate, dark tint, loud exhaust, etc)? I can't imagine a police peek over at the car next to him that is not speeding, has nothing illegal on it, the guy is clean cut and in Ivy League caliber work clothes, then decide to pull the car over just because he is black. That just makes no sense to me.

I would like to believe the officer was just doing his job but I've known too many officers that admit to profiling on a daily basis..and only a couple of these officers are white (lol). On the same token, I've seen whites discriminated against while being in majority black areas within Baltimore city and Anne Arundel county. I guess it goes both ways but published statistics reflect a different reality.
Funny story: On the way down to Ocean City this weekend we (group of Zs) passed a state trooper and I rolled my windows up while every one else rolled their windows down. Later that day one of the forum members asked me why I rolled my windows up before we passed the trooper and I told her it was because I didn't want the trooper to see two black guys in a sports car.
Either way, its all good. I think the state troopers and local police in general learned a lesson after they settled that $400k discrimination lawsuit. If all else fails, get a lawyer I guess
