2009 z34 Nismo out of production?!?
So I put in my order for a white z34 nismo last saturday with my local dealer (BROWNS), they call me yesterday to tell me that it is no longer in production and I will have to purchase one immediately and that they could transfer one to their dealership asap.
Smells a bit fishy, seeing that the car came out July 19. I know the z33 nismo only produced about 1607 for two years, so I can't see how it's already out of production and not available to order after one month?
Has anyone else heard this or do you think my dealer is just trying to make a quick sale?
Thanks!
(posted this in the nismo forum and didn't get a helpful response, hope I can get a more serious response here)

Any car will have some sort of delivery miles - it's up to you to tell the dealer what you will consider acceptable. Mine came with 40 miles on the clock because they had to locate it for me and drive it down from CT. I didn't care, as I got the exact one I wanted, no more, no less, at a fair price and it arrived within a few days of me making the purchase. I've purchased tons of new cars before - some had under 3 miles, some had upwards of 150. Each time, I looked them over fully before finalizing the purchase to make sure it was as it was supposed to be.
none have been sitting around more than 30 days, and of a course a new car is prepped before it is delivered...the car just was released, and it's a limited model, it's not like it's an accord or camry, etc

Every salesman has to fulfill a quota every month, they don't start making commission until they sold a certain number of cars... i believe it was 5-10 or somewhere around there.
At the end of the day, they're only interested in your money and getting you to buy it as fast as possible... but in reality, there is no "urgent" matter about it.
It's BS, dealerships do what's called "creating a sense of urgency" to get the buyer to buy quicker, even though they could locate that car any day of the week... even if you came back a month or 2 later. Their goal is to make you buy it THAT day.

true, but again, if they can get him what he ordered, quicker than via ordering it, and at the same price...all the better no?
Thanks again for the responses guys. I'm getting my deposit back so all is well.
Update: Two dealerships have informed me that the 2010 z35(is it 35 now?) Nismos will be open for preordering in September of this year, with delivery depending on priority, anytime between December and January. I didn't see any news about this, but I thought I'd pass it on. I will be putting my deposit down for that instead
