I taught my gf how to drive, took us 30 mins to learn. Here's a tip: be on a flat surface and tell her, "Don't touch the gas pedal, leave your foot on the clutch and release SLOWLY... when you feel it engage, lift off the clutch EVER SO SLIGHTLY... until first gear starts to roll on its own." Then tell her to start over, and do it again... repeat 100x. Once they learn the clutch's engagement point, it's smooth sailing from then on.
I tough mine how to drive standard a few years back.
I did it by putting a white paper cup in the cup holder with a little water.
Everyday I would fill the cup a little more and leave it there for her morning rides to work.
It was summer, so it was good that she had a cup of water to drink before turning on the car and going to work.

she wasnt delivering tofu was she?
^^ LOL!!!
On a serious note: she delivered tacos I heard.
I used a small stuffed animal to put on the dash when I taught my gf stick. If she accelerated out too hard out of first gear, the stuffed animal would fly to the floor. Good way to practice and gauge how well you're feathering the gas.

You hear Mexican and the first thing that comes to your mind are tacos???
No sir! She was just delivering stolen goods!
Looks like a High School senior Picture to me!!

Seriously though, i never ever use my analog speedo, i always use the digital one. Because of my height in proportion to where i keep the steering wheel it's a PITA to see the analog speedo. So the OP probably does the same thing.
