Taught the GF to drive the Z today...after 5 mins of stalling...she was cruising...we'll take it to public roads soon...wish us luck....

congrats on teaching her to drive the Z. I dont have the patience to teach mine......nor do I want to pay the deductible.
One thing that kills me is this

Women sit way to close to the steering wheel.

yea now that she "knows" how to drive stick she wants an STi...but on the way home she saw a GT-R and was like "I want that...is it really fast?"

hahaha I can only think of two explanations for this
"It doesn't matter how fast you're going baby, the middle gauge is the important one"
"If you get too intimidated, don't worry, just look at the speedometer and remind yourself YOU CAN DO IT!"
I taught my gf how to drive, took us 30 mins to learn. Here's a tip: be on a flat surface and tell her, "Don't touch the gas pedal, leave your foot on the clutch and release SLOWLY... when you feel it engage, lift off the clutch EVER SO SLIGHTLY... until first gear starts to roll on its own." Then tell her to start over, and do it again... repeat 100x. Once they learn the clutch's engagement point, it's smooth sailing from then on.
Linh bought a civic SI and had no choice but to learn since she had work 48 hours after buying it.
nothing like making a 1+ hour commute to NVA Tysons area on your first real trip out with a 6 speed.

Luckily for me my GF can drive stick, but doesn't like to drive the Z because she's too afraid she's gonna hurt something! lol I jusr re-assure here she's not gonna hurt anything, but leave it at that! That keeps the miles off an otherwise weekend car. We have three cars between us, so i figure it's never like there will be a point where we'll have to drive the Z as a DD if one breaks down.
To the OP.....
Kinda off subject, but have you determined which Revision of 6MT you have?? I, and alot of other owners, have gone through many many transmissions because the earlier ones had issues. (Esp if you had an 03)
CD009 seems to be the revision that fixed it finally. (the CD008 trannys seems to be ok for the most part too) FYI.
