Can someone help me brainstorm good meeting spots for the Tysons Corner/Rockville area? It's a good middle ground for both northern and southern people to drive to.
The location MUST have:
1. a lot large enough to accomadate at least 100 cars
2. a place with absolutely no security guards that can kick us out
3. a place that's easy to find, easy to enter, and easy to exit
4. a place where not so many folks gather at, shop at, take their kids, etc.
*5. a place to eat and drink within a walking distance of the parking lot
*6. a gas station at least a block or 2 away
Numbers 5 and 6 are not absolutely necessary, but within the interest of all parties; It's the most logical choice since we always have folks who need to fill up before a cruise. I have yet been to one meet/cruise where someone didn't need to fill up or was hungry. At times, we won't stop for awhile, so getting food in your stomach is a big priority to some, though not necessary.
I have thought of the Circuit City, right off route 7. It has a big lot, no security, Starbucks, McDonalds, and Exxon within a walking distance taking no longer than 30 secs, and has 2 exits so we can clear the premise without causing a traffic jam and alerting any authorities.
Other places to keep in mind: Office buildings that are not opened on Sundays with large lots, parks, restaurants with large lots (chick fila?)

Anh that Korean bar 20/20 in Rockville works best at night!
The location MUST have:
1. a lot large enough to accomadate at least 100 cars
Check and the lot is freaking HUGEEEE
2. a place with absolutely no security guards that can kick us out
There's a security guard but he doesn't care if we chill as long as we don't do anything stupid. In fact remember he let me and Eric do some drifto that one time?
3. a place that's easy to find, easy to enter, and easy to exit
It's a little hard to find but definitely easy to enter and exit and it's right by Dave & Buster
4. a place where not so many folks gather at, shop at, take their kids, etc.
Check! It has a looottt of room
*5. a place to eat and drink within a walking distance of the parking lot
Check! Eat and drink at the Korean bar!
*6. a gas station at least a block or 2 away
Check! There's an EXXON right near by

I'll break these down to night vs day meets. Day time meets will be on Sundays where everyone can make it. Night time meets are geared more toward any other day of the week where it's convenient for everyone since it will be from 7pm onwards (after work.) We want as many people to show up as possible to these meets so keep time/place/location in mind when suggesting new areas. From there, we can map out a cruise afterward or some fun activity.
Rockville:
Korean Bar (night time)
Dave & Busters (night time)
Toys R' Us (day time)
Tysons:
Circuit City Lot (Day time)
Chick Fila (Dulles, Night time)

your goal should be to write up a business plan.
Meet with your key members and figure that out.
Clearly not 100% of that falls under a non profit org, but, it will give you an outline of the things you must figure out.
If you really want an inside on things, hang out with your local harley chapter. Harley people know how to run non profit orgs like no other. They set up great outtings and are able to bring a lot of donation money into local places.

So, we make things happen. I dont knwo you and i havent read a lot of your posts but if your not into the club or club concept than its just not or you. Its about friends and cars and things that interest you. You commited to buying a Z or G or whatever you bought with your money. This is like a support group. Doing mods, driving and enjoying your car. It's not supposed to be a drag on your life. It kinda sounds like you are opposed to being apart of this which is fine but dont take this the wrong way, if your just going to hold up progress, just move aside.
