So randomly my car just doesn't want to start. Usually when the car has been sitting for a overnight or 5 hours or more. Like this morning the car was in the garage went to start it, turn the key and nothing happens. No noise, no click nothing. Like when you turn the key on without pressing the clutch in. Its like that. The voltmeter reads 14+ and all the lights comes on. After 3-4 minutes of switching it on and off it finally starts like normal. I immediately turns it back off and start it again and this time without a problem. Same thing happen last night while I was leaving work but before this it would just randomly happen without rhyme or reason. No check engine light btw.
Battery/Alternator: I doubt this and Ive been keeping an eye on the voltmeter
Starter: Possibly but it happens so randomly
Ignition switch: ?
Ideas? help? I cant really take it to the shop cause those fools would just say it didn't while they have my car.

yea it is hard to diagnose even with the car. Its so random its kinda hard to pin point it myself. I had this issue during a track event too. After about my 5th run in 100* weather it decided to not start. Anybody else had similar problems?
Mine did the exact same thing last year. No click, nothing. Like my battery was completely disconnected.
It's your battery. I know, it doesn't make sense, but i went and got it tested (My volt meter read fine too)turns out i had a bad cell. Sounds like you have the same issue.
Pull it out and take it to your local autoparts store. They'll test it for free.

Have you ever had any wiring work done? Sounds like a loose connection near the ignition switch to be honest. Aftermarket alarm systems will intercept the starter wire and if they don't solder or crimp it correctly this is exactly what happens.

just to take it out of equation I will go get the battery tested tomorrow. As far as wiring goes I haven't had anything done except some stereo equipment but that has been gone for 2 months now.
Also you can try getting and see if you're getting 12-16 volts at the terminals with the car running. If you are, then you'll know it's likely the battery, not the alternator.
