Not sure if anyone outside of a few journey into the drag forum, but last Sat we had an impromptu meet-up at Cecil. Just thought I put out the congrats to Ajcool2 and Denchan350gt who broke records. AJ broke the NA auto record and Derek set the record for fastest NA G35. Another local, Franky65, had a monster day with his stock HR as well. He ran a 13.13 with the pass seat, spare, and tools removed......and a low 13.2x at full weight. I also had a pretty good day considering my clutch woes.
Some vids:
My best and The Record breaking G run:
YouTube - cecil county dragway.wmv
Record run for AJ (and a close race with the G (13.30 in that run)):
YouTube - Ajcool2 Record NA Auto 350Z
Franky65's 13.13:
YouTube - Stock HR 350z 13.1@109 mph
Full weight 13.2x
YouTube - Quarter mile Stock HR 350z 13.2@108 mph
I know that drag racing is somewhat frowned upon by some in the mid-a, but none the less, these are pretty strong achievements for the new record holders.
Cheers,

It was a blast out there, and because of the cold most made a few runs and left. Traction was an issue for the first hour because of the weather over the past two weeks washing most of the vht and rubber off the track (and the cold), but once a solid groove was set-up it was almost ideal out there. -1000'+ DA's for most of the day.

Nope all closed for the season.....Cecil is the latest to stay open. Funny thing is we were actually thinking about not going, but I think we were all glad we did. It was an early track opening, on a sat, and a two hour drive for me and Franky. It was good times though.
That track looks downhill in the videos. No wonder so many records there LOL,.

Its flat as a board for the first 1300'. The laast 20' slopes a few feet, and 50 or so feet after the line it slopes harder. I trapped about the same as I do at Capital. It was just the ideal weather that made for the records.....had the same weather been persistent and we went to MIR the results would have been much the same. All that being said, it's a fast track too.
Dang. I get bumped from #14 to #16 in one day. You guys are killing me.
Import vs Domestic Day at Maryland International Raceway will be payback time.

Congrats to all you guys
. Records or not, a day at the drags sounds like a lot of fun.

13.0 @ 107mph is nice but damn you weaksauced it out of the hole. The shifts sound clean though, good work. Ideally with your power + good clutch 12's all day long....
You beat my NA best by .1 second
edit-BTW anybody that frowns on drag racing can eat a d!ck. Most of the tools who like to think they are road course or back road kings cant even grab a gear and rarely drive hard, do you really think they can drive in the twisties? LMFAO

I definitely sissied it out of the hole, but I was being a bit "gentle" lol. Once the new clutch is in I will be more rigourous with the launch. I have gotted a couple of high 1.8's out of it thus far, but I know I can get it down to low 1.8's once the driveline is good to go again.

Good work fellas! Very good times. I'm down for the next time you guys all get together at the track so let me know. I need to see what my car is running with the new tune and I'm sure the gf would'nt mind making a couple passes in her car. Again, good work!

speaking of which, whats up with your car... is it going to be ready for the meet this weekend?
