Look on the bright side, at least you got to run on those twisties while you were up here. That's worth all 3 tickets!

TROOF!

Imagine that, I was actually following the speed posted and not driving like a maniac then I get pulled for tint.

meh I was pretty pissed about it yesterday but its whatever today. Life goes on. I still say the cop must have smelled my tax return money burning a hole in my pocket.

I put my money that your car is registered to you...correct?

If so...every time your tags get ran....not too uncommon...it automatically pulls that the registered owners license status as suspended/revoked/expired/valid. It doesn't pull the driving record, just the status of the license of the registered owner. At least this is how I understand it....similar to having a CCW.

That right there is your reason for pulling the vehicle over regardless of who's driving.

Edit: And the tint laws have been discussed IN DEPTH here in the Mid-A

MD: 35% limit
VA: 50% front sides and 35% rear.

Car is registered to me in VA but I carry an NC DL as I technically have a residence there. I would have registered the car in NC but I bought it in VA so they wouldn't allow me to get out of state registration. Besides, I already paid VA property tax on it so I didn't bother switching yet. You think the police has that kind of database?

In this case, whether he had probable cause or not, he literally pulled out from the cop cut away with his light off to come after me. So he didn't run my plate for sure until he pulled me.

What does "technically have a residence there" mean? As I understand it, you can only have 1 primary legal residence.

Also, I know this was asked already, but did the cop ever tell you why he pulled you over? I'm betting it was the tint.

You're the only guy I know that has successfully "rolled" their fender without any tools. Now that's like major rice points.

He did say he pulled me for tint.

As far as residence goes think college student. In my case I work in VA but I still have a lease agreement where I'm still getting mail at. From my understanding from the last cop that pulled me over since my legal residence is still in NC he couldn't do anything about it.

hahaha that wasn't a roll dude and I blame that on the fact you made me drive thru 3000 potholes in Silver Spring to find some Dimsum. That was more like a pull that makes me cutting my tires even easier. Phuc it ain't easy pimpin... its even harder to be a ricer in VA.

OK....now I'm really confused

You have a NC drivers license and your "legal" address is in NC, but you have your car registered in VA with VA tags? Do I have this right?

What address did you use in VA to register the car?

I said think college student... you can still have a school address and a home address right?

I still have a house in NC.
I work and also live part time in VA.
I bought the car from a dealership in VA so I was required to register in VA.

I already forgot why this was important? hahahaha

I'm not sure, but I think you are in violation of something regarding the registration of this car.

I'm sure the cops or DMV will figure it out eventually.

In VA, State Police can stop you if they suspect your tint exceeds legal limit. For whatever reason, county and city cops don't seem to care.....it's just the State Troopers who are the problem.

Ask me how I know! I paid a $90 ticket after a 6 month battle.

Consider these tickets, "ricer tax." In the long run, worth every penny!

Yea I agree, like I said, I was pissed off yesterday but I will pay for these damn tickets except the registration one. I already told you today man I'm getting the car registered in NC asap. I won't make it so easy next time plus I can get rid of the front plate. lol

Please connect the dots. Why would you register a car in MD when you don't even reside there?

OK, well I believe there are quite a few exceptions/waivers for military folks that us civis don't get.

But I still don't understand. If you live in VA why not register your car there? I know the answer but I wanna hear you say it!
