I got popped two weeks ago because my tint was 45% instead of 50%... I bought the car from another forum member and must have been dreaming up the fact that he said it was legal, lol. No ticket, but I got off lucky.

^The window itself has a natural 5% tint to it. I'm surprised he even gave you any crap for it let alone pull you over. Most cops know this unless he's a complete moron.

I don't know man you would think so. Dude that pull me over couldn't even tell time apparently. He somehow pulled me over at 4:45pm (according to ticket)in Stafford but you know we didn't leave Reston Town Center until almost 5pm. Ohhhh I know, he was working with CST.

I'm never buying a car out of state again, I never knew they changed the laws so if you buy a car in a different state you must tag and reg it for that state.

I've had 20% tint on all my cars since 1999 and no cop has ever even mentioned tint to me. I have gotten about 4 speeding tickets in that time without a tint warning or anything. Last week I got pulled over in my wife's black M35 for expired tags. She's got 15% tints all around and the cop gave me a warning for the tags, but said nothing about the tint. It might have helped that my 4 month old daughter was sleeping in the carseat. Oh, and I'm sure looking Caucasian helps too

My bro is a cop in NC and he said that all they do is profile cars. He said if a car is clean and classy looking they most likely won't get pulled over. But if a car is dirty/messy/sloppy with big exhausts dark tints and stuff hanging from the rear view, they will be targeted. He said that they will find any reason to pull them over and then find as many reasons as they can to give them a ticket. He even said that if a car has more than one air freshener hanging from the rear view they will pull the car over and find a reason to search the car. I guess they assume that the person is trying to cover up the weed smell. I told him that is why everyone hates cops...

I already forgot why this was important? hahahaha
EASY! No Front License PLATE! Get that thing registered in NC, I have at least 10 "plate" tickets.

I've gotten pulled over in NOVA 5 times on an expired licence back in the day when I had my '95 Civic hatch w/exhaust & 20% tint. Got some speeding tickets, but they never said anything about the exhaust or tint. As far as the exp. licence goes, I acted as if I had JUST paid the ticket everytime and got off.

I've gotten pulled over twice in my black '08 HR w/20% tint(reads 16%) on the sides & 50% on the windshield....one ticket for speeding & one for front tag(bs)....NONE for tint.

I'd like to be your insurance agent! Nice commission on your premium with all those moving violations.

By the way, if your car is registered in another state, VA police can't bust you for tint.

^^^^^^^^^^ Yeah, I was a mess back then. I was on my parents' policy. I didn't care.

I've only been pulled twice since I've owned my Z. When you're on your own, you pay more than just attention to your insurance company!!!

you should fight the tickets at court. its sounds like he gave you all tickets that are secondary offense, meaning that he specificly pull you over for them. and normally if there is one f*ck up on the ticket (the time) the whole case will get thrown out. to beat the tint ticket have a shiop wirte you a rceipt saying they changed your tint, and you should not have to pay the fine. show the judge that you did have a current registraion and you wont have to pay that one either. as for the license thing try to get that cleared up befor court.

Clever cop. He wrote down an earlier time to make it seem more plausible that he could see your tint in broad daylight. Any time later time than that the judge might ask him how he even saw it if it was getting dark? Then you can call him out for being car racist.

^^^ That was my thought to begin with but he wasn't smart enough to match the last ticket's time as it was the correct time. So I literally was pulled over for over 2 hours according to the tickets. LOL Its all good, I'm gonna present my evidence/correction/excuses and its up to the judge. Its all a bunch of BS anyway. Ricer tax ftw

I have an acquaintance who owns a tint business. He says kids come in all the time trying to get him and his guys to write up fake work orders to get them out of paying a tint fine.

He tells them all to *UCK OFF.....He's not interested in being part of perjury which is exactly what that is.
