Default Motorcycle information

I currently live in Maryland. I am moving to Virginia at the end of the month. Would it be better to gain a motorcycle license in MD then transfer to a VA license? Or just get one in VA? I am just unsure how much difference there is in both states.
Thanks.

What are you thinking of riding Phil? I've got a VA license and it was easy, not sure how difficult MD is to do.

Also, where are you moving to?

Get one now, and it will transfer over later.

If you're in no rush wait till you move to VA.

I got my VA license last weekend actually and I thought it was pretty easy then again, I don't hit up MD too often.

It's a toss up between a Buell XB9, Ninja ZX or GS-XR600.
I live in Fair Lakes.

So if I acquire a MD license, do I have to take a test in VA in order to receive/transfer to a VA license? I just don't want to waste time taking another test/doing extra (redundant) work.

No its same as cars, you dont take another driving test if you change states right? It transfers same for motorcycles...

Well the problem is that I move on the 24th, this weekend. And I work in Dulles. Night classes at Howard start at 6pm. There's no way I will get there in time for the class.

First bike? I started with an SV 650S and it was the best decision I ever made. They're fairly cheap now, and hold their value well, especially if you only keep it for a year to get your hours in. I moved on to a CBR the following season.

I've been looking at picking up another one to get around on, thinking of going naked this time though. Always had a thing for the way they look.

Once I get another bike Im converting mine to naked and doing lower clip-ons...I love the look with the pointed tail + seat cowl.
