My job requires that I occasionally go to client offices for meetings or to work on site.
I already get crap for the Nismo and there is no way I would survive professionally if I showed up in a green or orange Z (or anything else that resembles most of what's in Media Share; no offense) with a loud a$$ exhaust and test pipes (among other reasons, that's why I'm reconsidering replacing the stock cats with Kinetix cats).

I kind of thought about it the other day before deciding on buying GReddy Ti-C true duals. I also thought about showing up to other events like GFs family things etc and that I dont really want to be "that guy" (especially being 30). But then I realize my car makes me enjoy getting up and going to work. I also realize that I could never pull off the Goofmobile although im absolutely in love with it. I think tastefully done is key in your situation.
Growing up sucks and so does having to be responsible but having a good job lets you buy weekend cars and nice daily drivers. Just look at Jeffie!!

If I needed to drive clients around I wouldnt even do it in a stock Z.
So having to be worried about what others think of your car/mods is pretty lame, or J'ing the mods so some dbag doesnt smell fumes from cats or complain about my exhaust wouldnt apply to me.

Don't need two now that I take public transportation and only occasionally need to drive to see client offices.
My boss and clients might be dbags (they're not, they're actually easy to work with) but those same dbags have a big say in my pay scale and career trajectory so I'd be crazy not to consider what they think or any impressions I make on them. If I didn't care, I would show up at client meetings in flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt but I don't because I'm professional and care about the image I project. Hence, no loud, showy cars for me (even though the Nismo is pushing it slightly).

I understand OPs point. In some circumstances you might want to show restraint or save and get a decent daily driver.

You get to go to happy hour with co-workers and bosses? Man, I work so late that Ive never even been to happy hour. Sounds awesome, oh well maybe some day.
