Your opinion? pics inside
Hi guys, I have meet some of you and everyone is always so nice. I just got my new hood painted yesterday and installed about an hour ago. I thought I would ask for some of your guys advice. I really like the look of the Nismo decal on the hood. I dont want to take away from the beauty of the Veilside hood but I think the hood looks better with the decal. Also I purchased a set of Stillen 1/4 window louvers. (I got them dirt cheap). So I had my painter paint them with the hood. I know most dont like them but I kinda do. I think they look awesome from a direct side view but think they might hang off the car from a front or rear view. I dont want my car to look like a 16 year old has it but I just think they add a little something. I took a couple quick pics (mind you the light wasnt very good in the garage and before I get a lot of crap about the gaps the hood is just sitting on the latch) of the stuff on the car. Let me know what you think. Please be respectful, I am not an idiot and I have a lot invested in my car. I always treat everyone on here with respect, I expect the same. But I do values peoples opinions. Thank you

Guys I dont have the window louvers on yet. I just sat it on there to take the pic. As for the headlight covers the right headlight would have gotten busted getting onto 70 (dodge truck kicked up a $.50 piece size stone up and smacked off of it) when I was leave Hills this spring if the cover wouldnt have been on there. That one situation paid for them in my opinion. Plus they can be removed in like 1 min. Robert

^Guys please read that the hood is just sitting on the first latch! With the hood all the way down it looks as good as the stock hood (or very close). I leave the neg batt terminal off when I have it put away. So I just leave the hood unlatched to make it easy.

^Thank you on the paint. My buddy paints for a local body shop. He does really good work. As for the decals I like them. They seem to stand out. To me it looks really good with the DB paint. Do you guys see the window louvers? I have never seen them in person on another z. I am a guy who likes to be different. I am not a ricer, but to me different is good. I know the z is a awesome car right from nissan but to each thier own. I laid a decal on the hood and to make it work is going to take someone who really knows how to lay vinyl right where it needs to go. It will go right over 3 of the louvers on the hood, plus those louvers are cut to allow air out. I think it might be a disaster waiting to happen. I dont want to ruin the decal or let the hood look aweful.

i've seen this car in person and it still looks mint. for the power your pushing, a functional vented hood fits. Not a fan of the window louvers, and i would not take the factory nismo r-tune decals off.-not many people have them and why not let everyone know its legit?

Honestly, I kinda liked the light covers when the car had the stock hood, they looked really clean IMO. The window louvers I'm not a fan of. And as for the hood, I can understand, and definitely appreciate your choice of getting a vented hood, seeing as how I'm gonna have to buy one soon to keep the underhood temps manageable. My only $0.02 about the hood is the center vent. I would've, and AM going to go with one that has the vents on the sides of the hood, but w/o that center vent. Also, keep the decals... it's not like your covering your car in "JDM" stickers, etc.

I like it all aside from the decals and the headlight covers. I think it would look nicer with the insides of your headlights paint matched (and Im sure that will also help if you actually need your headlights for something lol)

I like the hood since it allows a consistent passage of air. Anything functional is A+ in my book. It may add an extra few lbs to the front and make it a little nose heavy to an already nose heavy car (though not by much) the functionality offsets the weight distribution.
I'm not a huge fan of the window louvers, though I do admit they look great on a Mustang.
