va inspection wiht test pipe
im pretty sure that this topic was on this forum numerous times, but cannot really find it so i will make another one,.
My inpspection sticker expired and i need to get one... and i have a test pipe on.. i know va doesn't do a sniffer test but im guessing the inspector would still figure out from the sound of the car. yes??
can i still get the ticket? or do i need to replace with the stock one or get a hfc?
if anyone around me has a good solution, please let me know or pm me.
I live in richmond, va
Thanks in advance

My experience:
passed once when I was N/A with test pipes in VA
passed another time when I had 2.5" test pipes and twin turbos
passed a third time (just recently) with 3.5" test pipes, built motor, twin turbos, and pushing well over 500whp
all 3 times done at 3 different gas stations.
2 of those times I passed without non-foulers
My friend with a single turbo's experience:
Cleared his check engine light, drove 20 miles, and passed at a Nissan dealership with 2.5" test pipes pushing nearly 400whp
Another friend (who is N/A) ran test pipes since the first month he bought his car back in 03" - passed every single time till this very day 7-8 years later.
Conclusion: As long as you find some lazy guy who doesn't look under the car (visual inspection) and you don't pull any fault codes, I think you'll do just fine

I've passed with test pipes for the past 5 years going to this one shell station. Then this last time around I went there and some new guy was doing inspections (the other guy moved to a different station). Needless to say he looked up and down for my cats, even called his other hombres to look for them. Mind you I'm lowered and they had flashlights under the car. I failed for the first time in 5 years with testpipes. Dude put a big fat rejection sticker and actually wrote no cats on the damn thing. I ripped that crap off and went to another gas station down the street....I passed lol.

I passed everytime with test pipes, my car was too low and with side skirts it made it almost impossible to see anything, they never took the wheel off to check the brakes, the never tried rasing the car to check under neath, they barely checked all the lights, 3 inspections at 3 different stations passed everytime.
