Okay so I have a blown ballast in my car... I called Nissan almost 500 to replace. Um no... so my question is has anyone switched their factory HIDs out with aftermarket ballasts and if so what brand/bulb fit the factory housing?

Any help would be appreciated.

It would be better for you to find some headlights used from an 03. I think you can also ge the ballast on ebay. A lot of guys upgrade from the 03 to the 06+ so there should be some around pretty cheap.

 

Been through this myself, + I just saw a pair of OEM ballasts in the G forums for like $80. Stick with OEM...don't mess with the Chinese crap. FYI you can use almost any year ballast as long as the voltage is the same.. I have an '04 and an '08 they are identical.

 

Used ballasts are around 50 bucks.
Check your under-shield and headlight housing for water leaks

 

Thanks for the advice... I think I am going to look at upgrading to 06 as an option as well.

 

I just put in a whole new aftermarket system... I used DDM tuning

get the mini ballasts they are like the size of a credit card a 1/4 inch thick.
