Default Goodbye RWD Z. Hello AWD EVO X

It's Official. I am getting out of the Z game. Great times at the track, great times at the meets, its been a great past 2 years. I went from Stock to Full Out Greddy Twins in a matter of 45 days from the time I bought my Z. I will miss drifitin the Z every chance I got but catching those curves tonight at 85mph and feeling the EVO stick to them and beg for more - I have found something new to get addicted too.

Dear Nexx,

Thanks on the congrats. However, you dont know me, your not my Mom, and your not the my350Z police. If you would like for me to speak Anglo Saxon Proper English - hold your breath. The Mid-A community is pretty tight. We've either seen one another somewhere at a meet or show or passed on the streets and recognized. The Real MID-A folks know what I am talking about. The folks who have went beyond stock really know what I am talking about. So to you: Stay in DFW and outta the A forums with your qoutes cause it is a game and there is definitely a scene.

JR Your a big dude, too big for an Evo X, I like Evo X's I am just trying to picture you (300 lbs of msucle) in an Evo X, its like jamming the hulk in an RC car, the Z fit you really well. But I am trying to get another Z very soon, so I will get up with you and probably change my mind.

I'd assume there is more room in the EVO? I've never been in one, so I could be wrong. Nice car though.

I've been in an Evo X their is more room overall but the driver seat I felt more in a track car than I did comfortable. I guess thats a good thing though.

Congrats on the EVO again, I was contemplating the IX for awhile until I read up more on the X. First USDM EVo with the AYC installed from the factory + 40% stiffer than the previous model. On top of that, you can make these things weigh 2,750 lbs! I'm sold

Is there a lot of aftermarket support for power upgrades such as replacing the turbo, IC, etc? What are some typical #'s people are putting down? I've always liked this car.

Not from the Mid-A but I want to drop in to say your Evo's wing-less lipped trunk spoiler is hot. I would def. consider this ride in adverse weather!

And Nexx has a point in a sense that there is no "Z scene". Just a community of us car enthusiasts appreciating all platforms.

You can get around 375awhp with a stg 2 AMS package (and thats utilizing the stock turbo)

Huge aftermarket support, especially from AMS. Upgrading the power is CHEAP compared to the Z's. Thats the benefit of having a car with a turbo from the factory.

The best thing about this car is that its on an AWD platform but drives like a FR. This means you can drift it

You're right! My best friend can drift his X pretty well. Although it straightens up pretty quickly...lol.
