I can't decide which shocks to buy. I want moton club sports, but they are about 4500 with top hats and springs. Probably going with either Penske or AST's, but they aren't exactly cheap either. Motorsports shocks are insanely expensive.
I wouldnt spend $4500 on any shocks or suspension for the Z.
Realistically, you cant get the entire potential out of a good "top of the line" coilover setup with custom valving, spending that much is just crazy IMO. But I understand why you do it trust me.

Care to elaborate? I already have DA Koni's, but am not happy with them (or the leaking). The custom valved penske's are only about $1000 more than the ones that I have on the car now. Plus, the upper rebound adjusments are a pain in the ***** on all non remote reservoir double adjustable shocks.
This is the second time they have been rebuilt. All the DA Koni's do at one time or another. Why can't someone(or I) get the full potential out of custom valved shocks?
Because short of being a pro driver, you arent going to do it. I was talking about a $4500 suspension vs say a $2000 (pretty standard) suspension, not just shocks. I know you track the car in many diff forms and can handle business, but thats the way I look at that.
I do agree in some degree, but $4500 is really the entry point for competitive shocks. Hell 4 way penke/moton/JRZ's are in the 12-18k range. I could never justify anything over an entry level shock. Your right I probably wouldn't be much faster going from a 3500 penske set-up to 15,000 4-way penske set-up. I just don't have the capabilities or talent to either run them at their potential or tune them to their potential. I can and have had experience with independent 2-ways. I am comfortable with feeling my way through the adjustments, interpreting the dyno plots, and dialing them in.
The AST's would be the cheapest at ~2900 with springs. No remote reservoir, but the rears are inverted for ease of access.
When is your next track day on the bike, Alberto? It's been years since I have been to a 2 wheel track day (no I don't have a bike any more). Do you run with WERA, etc?
I heard that 500whp Evos are weaksauce. Maybe you need more gauges or lights or something.
My next mods are a gauge to monitor steering wheel grippage and christmas lights over my rear tires to heat them up for more traction. Definatly going to be hard to beat me then.

No netbook mounted to the dash for warning you of intake manifold pressure?
Do you guys think its worth having the welds on my intake redone? Anyone got a good place that does this? Im a little nervous about blowing them apart.
