I agree, the money is probably gone... but I would still file in small claims just in spite. Or let Shin do his thing... or both LOL.

Let him know that you're taking legal action and see how quickly he'll pay you.

 

What sort of documentation do you have from before the event. I hope you/other dancers and the event host signed a performance contract. You can find a standardized performance contract online you can use to protect yourself next time. Good luck.

 

Small claims court or maybe even setup a small payment plan with the guy. Or you can have shinny rape the guy.

this crap happens all the time in my industry (graphic design).. i did a site for a friend's boss and i never saw half of the remaining payment.. so i changed all the passwords for their hosting account and turned off their email + if you want to the homepage, it simply said "Error $$$ - Funds Not Found. This company doesn't pay their bills"
