VA 495 road conditions suck.......
Is it me or is 495 the absolute worse road to drive on. There are a million potholes and bumps. You'd figure fairfax county, being so rich, would do something about this.

oh it does? damn, one learns something new everyday. either way, 495 is giving my car a slow painful death. 66, 495, it all sucks, and do you guys think they'll ever finish whatever they're doing on 270?! my gosh.
I would think that you all would realize that NoVA accounts for ~40% of the state's revenue, but only receives ~15% of the state's apportionments in return. Hence the lack of funding for our over-travelled roads. You all must not drive in DC very much. Outside of my apartment, they tore up the street 5-6 months ago, and have yet to fix it. DC streets resemble a war-zone if you ask me....
It seems like where I live in VA they pave the roads whether they need it or not just to use up the grant money. This area has some of the best roads I have ever seen. I went back to PA for Thanksgiving and traveling the PA roads reminded me how good I have it here.
DC roads are horrid to drive on. It's like crossing rail road tracks when I drive down in to GWU and out.
There's plenty of Md roads that suck too though. Georgia Avenue is littered with pot holes from last year still. And their method of fixing some of this stuff? Pouring enough tar in the hole to make a nice bump. Yeh, great job. Mini speed bumps through out.

While our roads may not be the greatest we should be grateful we dont live in the Big Apple. The motto up there is "dig we must". Try the BQE, the LIE, Cross Bronx Expw'y you name it and it's undergoing a never ending repair. Give thanks

Yep, 23rd St. has some serious buckles in the road that don't agree with my coilovers. Virginia Ave. is the road I was referring to where they tore it up several months ago and have yet to fix it. Anyone ever driven up Rock Creek Parkway and gotten off at Mass Ave? The exit ramp looks like it has been subject to cluster bomb testing. Wisconsin Ave in Georgetown: How many years have they been tearing up that road now? I think they started in 1990, and have yet to complete it. I can't imagine a worse road.
I wish the city would fix up some of these roads, they are AWFUL to drive on, and my Z is not even lowered I'm going to fear when I get my new wheels and S-tune.oh well
safe driving!
