Default Does anyone paint headlights in Northern Virginia?

Does anyone know a person or business that can disassemble headlights/paint/reassemble?

I know this can be a DIY project but these lights are too expensive and I've read too many horror stories. Thus, I'd prefer to pay someone to do it. Preferably a business over a person incase they ufck something up. I'm in the chantilly area, and given the amount of money in this area, there has got to be someone who does this type of work. Anyways, thank you in advance for your help.

Also, if you've used a local busiest or person and they've done work for you, could you post pics of your headlights? I'd like to see how they turned out. Thanks

Don't use silicone to reseal the cover lens! You'll get water condensation soon or later, and then the chemical will mess up the inside of the lens. I cleaned out all the old sealant and use the auto-glass sealant. It's a lot less hassle and clean way to reseal the headlight. Tested with hot water and rain on the balcony - now on the car. No issue at all.

The project should take you only a weekend, but you have to be careful and patient. It's very easy to do (3/10 difficulty), but don't rush. You'll hate yourself if you rush to get them done.

Easy, after you take the covers out, just use your kitchen plastic roll to wrap the lens, then it should be dust-free!

It should take you a weekend to do it. I mean, taking out the covers shouldn't be longer than an hour. The rest is painting, and putting them back together. Here are some images of the process.

The covers i have are old and dirty, so I can't expect crystal clear lens. If your headlights are still new, they should be fine. Let me know if you want to tackle the project. It should be fun.

Thanks man. It's actually dark gunmetal ... it supposed to be flat black, but it turned out that way. I like the color. The headlights look nice on certain angle. The bezel will be hard to paint because of the clear stripes on the side. You have to be careful to keep the details right.

They turned out awesome! I made the mistake of using silicone and now I'm paying the price lol. I'm in the market for some new headlights, but they're hard to find!

Dan, take them out and reseal them with auto-glass sealant! Remember to clean out all the old sealant though. I guarantee you have no more water condensation! The reason why silicone doesn't work because they do not bond with plastic! I learned it the hard way! hahahaha ... )
