Just wanted to make an introductory thread. With a little 4-11 on myself
- My name's Khoi (pronounced coy, rhymes with boy, toy, etc etc lol)
- Recent graduate from University of Maryland College Park (Terps!!) with a BA in Criminal Justice
- 5+ years in the sales industry
- HUGE passion in cars, this is my first job in sales where its automotive related, can't express my excitement!

- I've been in the car scene since I was 16. I've been through my slew of Hondas (fully built, boosted, sponsored civic.. JDM front Integra.. boosted 4dr integra.. mr2 turbo)
- Went to the subie side, currently driving a 2008 Legacy GT Limited (turboback, tune, coilovers, among other small mods)
- Heavy involvement in National G Club (because of my brother) so the whole nissan/infiniti scene is NOT 100% new to me
Anyways can't wait to meet, help, and sell to this community! I've been a forum junkie for over 6 years, I know about you e-thugs and e-sarcasm LOL bring it on!

OP, why did you go into sales when you got a degree in Criminal Justice? Seems like a super wield move. Like you put yourself in debt to sell parts at a place that probably would have taken you w/o your degree, or do they have some need of your criminal justice degree?

My biggest regret now that I'm 2 years out of college is NOT taking college as seriously as I could have. 1 semester before I graduated, I applied to be a US Border Patrol Agent. I told myself, I don't want to be a local, county, state cop especially after finishing school and having a degree. Going straight to the federal level was a big goal of mine. My application literally got to the very last stage and it's just been at a halt for so long (finished all the interviews, exams, etc etc)
Throughout college I worked at a retail floor covering store for 2 years, then I got promoted to a regional position working for their distributor side my last year. Due to my territory being slow, I was laid off. I told myself I would never go back into sales just because of it's competitiveness. I saw a listing for a sales position with AAM and I figure why not? Sales, something I'm extremely good at, and cars which is something I'm extremely passionate at. At home I'm constantly trolling the forums for the next biggest update on whatever it might be, or always looking for the best deals. Now I get paid to do this! I couldn't be happier. Is this a career? maybe, maybe not. Would I rather be a county cop instead? probably not. I've always been more inclined to do more sales/marketing or business related jobs!
My biggest passion really is helping others out. At the end of the day if I can put a smile on someone's face whether that be through good service, selling stuff, or whatever it might be, I am 100% for it
Sorry for the long read, I tried to cut as much BS out as possible! LOL
I actually get asked this all the time. I originally went to school for business (at HCC) and when I had transferred to UMCP I didn't even come close to getting into the Business School there. At the time I had a lot of friends doing criminal justice, me being young I decided to follow since I always thought. Hey I like watching Cops haha and law enforcement was always interesting to me. Loved watching CSI, Law & Order, etc.

I always say a degree is better than no degree. College teaches you a lot more than what is actually taught in your special field or major.
Some of the biggest things I took from college outside of all the criminal justice education: time management, grammar, and communication skills

We've technically been under a federal hiring freeze for the past few years. But folks are still getting hired.
