Default Tint Suggestions?

I have the 2006 Enthusiast Interlagos Fire with no tint right now. I think that the color would look incredibly good with some tint but legal tint in VA is 50%... I'm wondering whether 50% looks any good on this color or if it's worth bending the law a bit and going for the 35%? Any suggestions?

Also, if anyone knows of a good place around Northern VA or Maryland to get it done relatively cheap but still being a quality job I'm open to suggestions. I've heard Driven Dynamics in Rockville is good but that's all I've heard of really.

I vote do the legal thing. That extra 15% isn't going to be that big of a difference. I'm from the school of better safe than sorry. I love Interlagos Fire btw

I would get the darkest allowable tint for your location all around. I had a 35% all around in Florida and it looked great.

I can't decide though some people say 50% isn't even noticeable :-/ I just want it to tie together with the darkish paint and not be clear, though I have the black interior so it should make it appear darker

I love it too haha I spent the past seven months looking around the area for one at a reasonable price and finally found it, fell in love, the story ends with me signing the papers two days ago lol

Go with the legal limit.IMO,you get it too dark, not only you may have some
problems with a over aggressive cop,but it cheapens the look of your car.
Interlagos is a fantastic and rare color. If you do a tint,I'd suggest a bronze shade rather than a gray.

I just got 20% on mine and I think that's the perfect amount, although my car is black so you may not need to go as dark to get it looking good. I think 50% may not be worth your while, but 35% would. Do you hear a lot of stories of people getting pulled over for tint in your area?

EDIT:

Here's 20% out in the sun:

and here's the same 20% in the dark, back-lit with the ambient sunlight from outside (i.e. doesn't look quite as dark):

Hey bro, are you around Tysons Corner?

Anyways the legal limit can be dropped down to 35% by getting THIS FORM filled up by your eye doctor. Say the lights bother your eyes a lot and you are always driving around while squinting. I got a condition so it was super easy for me to get it filled out, but my friends doctor wouldn't do it so he went to another one and was like "Hey man, I wanted this form filled out but my doctor wouldn't do it, can you please fill this out for me" and the doctor did it lol.

I still didn't put on the tints though. I felt as if it isn't dark enough. I want to see a %35 on someones car first though.

yeah man, definitely do not go with 50%, I think you'd regret it. Its way too light.

legal limit here in NY is 70 (yes 70) but i went and got 30% all around. Its dark enough that you can tell its different but under certain lighting, its actually pretty darn light.

with 30% you can definitely still see the person driving inside

Yeah man I'm ten minutes from Tysons! (Depending on 495 "Hot Lanes" traffic...) I may look into doing that form just to get the 35% and not be bothered but I haven't heard of many people around here having tint issues with cops, have you?

Not too much, but my buddy with a Z was forced to get his tints taken off, but than again he has his taillights baked black so I guess that might have something to do with getting a lot of attention and I think he had 15% tints at the time. I honestly want like 15-20% myself, but I need to get my wheels first.

Hmm yeah I wouldn't go that dark and I'm leaving the taillights untouched for now, shouldn't grab too much attention I hope

You should stop by at the 370Z meetings we have every saturday. Of course our 350z's are welcome too. We usually talk for like 2 hours, and if the group is big enough we go out and eat and drive. One week it takes place in VA and the other week it takes place in MD. It switches every week. I think this Saturday it's in MD.

I won't be there this week, but it's a good place to go and talk about Z's

My legal limit here is 35% all around (MA) I have 20% in the rears and I'm going to be putting 35% up front(had to take off the 20% in the front to pass inspection, but there is no way to test the rear windows)

most cops won't give you a hard time as long as they can still see inside the car. Here is my car with 35% tint. Go with 35%. It's pretty safe in my opinion.

Thank you for all the advice guys! I think I'm gonna go 35% and wrap it. I'm gonna look into going to the next VA meeting hookah, we'll have to talk beforehand to keep an eye out for one another!

If you have a good eye for cops, than you can just roll down your windows as you are passing by them, but the down side to that is that you better hope its not raining hard

But sooner or later, someday you will get a ticket lol. You can delay that time for a long time, but be ready that one day it will happen if your tints are illegal. Your first excuse can be it was like that when I got it, but yeah... That's the risk.

The safest way to go is with that 35% authorization.

i have 35% and wish i went with 18% or so lol.

but tinting 50% will just bring forth buyers remorse. 35% is the safest bet and i guarantee you wont be given a hard time for that.

Like others have said 50 will be too light. I have 30 on my windows here in new york and I've never had any problems with cops but its not dark enough for me. I plan on going down to 20 eventually.
