re the paint issue- i'm getting paint protection done for my Z; a guy called Reza runs AutoBrilliant (in Al Quoz mention my name (Samer- pronounced like 'hammer' ) he should give you a sweet deal on the exterior/interior protection package-

basically, they apply a layer of Teflon to your ride (i.e. Pro_tech) and it protects it from fading, minor scratches etc)

btw, how much you paid for the unichip w/ tuning?

ahh one more thing, if you want to dyno your car on DynoDynamics for more accurate numbers out of your turbo kit, I can point you to the shop the have this dyno (in Dubai). I personally hate Dastek dyno and their extrapolated dynos.

unichip cost me 700dhs(190us)i bought it from one of the members,for tune and dyno cost 600dh,iam having now the stock exhaust cause my wife doesnt like big sound,so i told her that i will fix the stock exhaut,

one thing how much your shops sell unichip in dubai? iam planing to make offers for all of you that if any one needs anything from US i can bring it for him,but i will think about it befor i jump this step and i know that i can break alot of the shops there because i know the there prices are very high.

Sorry Blackend, don't plan on the FI for the time being. Going to leave the engine alone for now and play with is surroundings. Once this becomes my toy and not my driver I will definitly upgrade the engine (to Turbo or the likes)..then I will bother you for your expertise... As for the FOX exhaust, thanks for the offer. Is it a true-dual exhaust?

By the way, do you have the contact information for the FOX workshop? I would like to get in contact with them and if you guys are ever cruisin' let me know about it and I could join you to hear some samples. I heard the JWT Pop-Charger allows for a great sound!! So Scarface I look forward to the hearing.

In Dubai they charge 2500 Dhs for the unichip and 2 dyno runs (one before and one after installing the unit). yours is the new unichip version (Q+)?

1300dhs but what i know that alot of shops there in dubai they dont have harness what they do only cut some wires from ECU and soild it to unichip or EU and i told them it is wrong way to cut the wires

 

Have any of you had problems after installing the chip? If not, which chip is the most reliable?

Also, do you guys know how the warranty works with the stealerships in the UAE? If I were to add a pop-charger, chip, Plenum Spacer, a true-dual and a pulley set...would any of these void my warranty?

Blackend, how loud is the exhaust? I am looking for something as subtle as the stock exhaust, maybe a bit more rumble...nothing too loud. I drive alot and for long periods...so a loud roar gives me a headache after a while....

 

My car is equipped with NOS. when I took it to the dealer for service, they noticed the connections and wires for the NOS and they told me what is that, I answered "thats the grounding kit!!". the superviser said "oh ok if thats the case then its ok but its not good for your engine", I said "yeah yeah I know" hehehehe stupid ppl in you ask me. my warranty is still on with no problems so far.

as for the chip I heard good things about the unichip but since the new versions (Q and Q+) require to upgrade the unit it self if you wish to switch from NA to FI, I changed my mind. Now I'm in the process of getting Motec EMS. will keep you guys informed.

 

MOTEC is good choise,i know the dealer in ABU DHABI that done tons of cars with MOTEC and the onwer is loacal guy from UAE and there are very nice shop i would recomend them if you want to fix it and tune it.

as far as your warranty if you fix anything in the car and something happen they will tell you that because of this thing you warranty gone,,,unless you know higher persone in massoad to cover you,i dont know about AL ARABIAH MOTORS in DUBAI.

 

the fox that i have it like the sound of sport tone,it is ture dual exahut with test pipes,if you fix it,it will give you 15 hp,

once you finsh installing everything iam recamond you to fix unichip and tune it that time you will gain alot of power and let unichip will make your rev to 7100rpm where you will got more hp out of your car.

I think that's a good idea. Exhaust, Chip & Pop-Charger are my priorities. I actually will be in Abu-Dhabi this week so where is the shop that you talk about with the MOTEC chip. Maybe I can get the chip from him. Does he install and dyno test as well?

Also, about your FOX exhaust...let me know what you want for it. I'll see if it fits my budget for the month.

 

Actually Scarface, since you've brought up grounding. I really think I should do this first as part of my STAGE 1. Could you guys adise me on where to do this and the best place.

 

I got my grounding kit from www.courtesyparts.com ... If I were you I'd spend my money on something else. it did nothing to the car

yes they dyno your car when you fix MOTEC befor and after but you should fix everything i mean all mod befor you jump on MOTEC to gain max power from your car.
